Slight driveline vibration after trans. swap.

I went out this morning and scrubbed the marbles off the A7 rears, then drove by Discount and made a will-call appointment to have them balanced. I don't recall the vibration with my street tires, but didn't drive very many miles on them since the trans swap before mounting the Hoosiers.

Slight driveline vibration after trans. swap.

No play at all in the yoke. I put one hose clamp on, drove it 4 times with it indexed 4×90 aligned with the u-joint ears. The #2 was maybe a tad better, but not significant. Seems to synch with rear tires in 4th gear a bit, and they need balancing.

    Michelin 17" PS2s available NOW!

I have a flat spot on one of my 275-17 fronts. The rule of thumb is they don't heal themselves. I emailed JonB at PartsRack and had a new pair delivered within 2 days straight from the factory in S.C. Michelin may not be the most inexpensive choice, but the PS2s are the BEST road tires for our...

Slight driveline vibration after trans. swap.

Dave, just a straight-up transmission swap. I went thru all those other parts about 4500 miles/3.5 years ago. Most of the driving has been street/highway with 4 events at COTA, 1 at Road America. Mike, it felt perfect going in but I am considering that. I think I'll start with 1 clamp on the...

Slight driveline vibration after trans. swap.

I had a bad synchro or blocker ring in 3rd gear, so I swapped in a known good transmission, put some new u-joint straps on and went for a spin. There's now a minor shifter vibration under accel/decel above 3k engine rpm. No vibe when declutched. Prop shaft was indexed to the diff yoke pre/post...

    DRB III

I'll have to check which ones mine came with but it was one heck of a buy. God mine is S-L-O-W! I'm guessing it has more to do with the JTEC bus speed than the DRB, but it pains me every time I plug it in. I mostly use it for checking my adaptives and Inclinometer/Viper Alignment functions.

    Oil Temps

Ideally, you want oil temps a little over 212F so that any condensed moisture in the sump will boil out. The oil cooler is water-jacketed.

    Gen1 Roe Exhaust Question

Cats are bi-directional. I would recommend Moroso Spiral Flow mufflers. They come in 2.5 and 3.0 inch diameters. Very nice low rumble, not raspy or loud. Do you have side, or rear exhaust?

    Gen1 Roe Exhaust Question

You typically want them very near the primaries. The G1 & 2 cars had them in the front of the sills, just where the turnouts went parallel to the centerline.

    carbon fibre bonnet security stays

Hood (bonnett) pins? You have to find a relatively level, flat area on the inner fender well. You will need access to the bottom to spin the locknuts for height adjustment. You'll also need to look for a good area on the hood to drill thru the support structure. A dab of grease on top the pins...

    Engine serial Number

I'm pretty sure the Viper plug wires were dated by quarter, not month.
