You might get more interest in this post if it was in the Gen I and II section.
Have you tried a CARFAX using the full 17 digit VIN? That could possibly lead you to the current general location...city/state. At that point, you may want to contact the local Viper club (s) on the outside chance...
Gary, give me a few minutes and I will look for a good diagram in the service manual for you. Once I find it,, I can text it to you once you shoot me a text at 317-402-9013. Hopefully, you have all of the fasteners.
Aside from whatever "look" that you ultimately choose, the point made by SA Heat concerning balanced aero, the appropriate spring/shock combo, and handling is a REAL ISSUE at speed.
As I recall, when the 2010 ACR Convertible was tested in the wind tunnel with the standard ACR wing, "it flew"...
It appears to me that the1998 PCM is the slightly earlier European version and that the 1997 is a USA version.
However, I cannot tell for certain about the PCM from your car marker "790" as it does not match the parts manuals.
You may end up picking one (preferably on trial) and hoping that it...
PCM's ("Module,Engine Controller) listed in the older, original parts manuals:
1996 JTEC USA 4763639
1996 JTEC Europe 4763808
1997 Federal, Canada 04848702AC
1997 Europe 04848703AC
1998 USA 04854704AC
1998. Export 04854706AB
The problem is whether or not performance issues or CEL's...
Hi, Anders...sorry about your difficulties.
Just to better understand your situation, exactly what year/model is your Viper ?
I am asking since the thread title asks about 94 and 96, then the post asks about 96 and 98.
For instance, if your Viper is a 1996 GTS, I would lean toward buying the...
A portable battery pack is preferable to a running donor car in terms of avoiding damage to either car.
The NOCO battery packs that I have seen are labeled 1000 -3000 amps...which should be enough.
But, if you have a bad battery (regardless of age), the best thing to do is to change it to a...
If I understand your post correctly, my first question concerns the status of the car's battery. Did you fully charge the battery? If so, did you test the battery voltage to see the level of charge?
Did you replace the battery with a new, tested battery? Did the car run when you first got it or...
In my opinion, the safest and easiest way is to connect a portable battery jumper pack under the hood at the designated positive and ground jump posts...as outlined in the owners manual (particularly on 1993.5 through 2002 Vipers where direct access to the battery is not available). Just...
I certainly agree with you,FoxyChicken...removing that cover can be a real bear...especially in an emergency. The excessively LONG bolts are open to corrosion due to their unshielded position...PLUS, the bolts being Torx head type only adds to the difficulties.
Some may ask "what emergency" ...
StumpDDS, nice install!!
if you have not already done it, you might want to consider putting heat shields on underhood wires, hoses ( even rubber boots on ball joints)...especially O2 sensor wiring and clutch hydraulic line to name a couple.
It's interesting just how many calls I get per year...
Sorry, I did not receive an email from you.
I thought that you might have already solved the issue. Please try to resend it to: [email protected]
Steve
axelererafond, when I posted my response to you, I had not noticed that you are located in France. You have my apologies.
If it is better for you, contact me by email and describe exactly what the problem is with your Viper. I may be able to help via email once I better understand your...
