What are some of the concerns with aftermarket headers?
Aftermarket headers can add a lot more heat to the engine bay of a Viper. The more heat you can get out of the engine compartment the better. The air conditioning is more efficient, the power steering pump will love you and generally all the accessories will be happier. The insulative ceramic coatings available should also help put the heat out the tail pipes, not into the engine bay.
Header heat also significantly degrade the stock wires. Protect them by rerouting if possible. After burning three sets of high grade wires, one owner installed Excel's *Extreme 9000* wires and boot shield, and had no more problems.
