Where is the battery located?

The battery on 1993+ Vipers is behind the Drivers Side rear tire. The battery was mounted in that position so that in the event of a rear quarter collision, the explosion of the battery would not spark fuel from the fill tube on the right side. Also, the Front Passengers Side of the car has a LOT of stuff in the engine compartment---Overflow, Surge, Heater, and more.

The 1992 had the battery dead-centered in the trunk. The "next best place" was the LR fender.

Note: Older Viper batteries had a TSB (# 08-14-97-Rev-A), that places a "Battery Cell Cap, Self Adhesive" over the seals to prohibit leaking in high-G (autocross) turns.
