It has been a great experience working with Todd Abrams, owner and tuner of A&C Performance in Murrieta, CA for about 6 months now slowly and succesfully modifying my '05 Copperhead.

My goal for '08 year with my Copperhead was to extract as much power as possible, have awesome throttle response without modifying engine internals or going forced induction. Well Todd has made me one happy customer. He just completed a great install and tune of the VEC3 for me. The dyno numbers speak for themselves (521 rwhp and 538 rwtq from his conservatively rated Dyno Dynamics System. On a Dynojet, these numbers be about 20hp higher). This is with American Racing Headers and Cats and stock mufflers.

After speaking to Todd on several occasions he knew exactly what i was looking for with my Viper so he suggested the VEC3. With the VEC3 and Todd's tuning, throttle response and liveliness of the motor is incredible. Laying into throttle moderately, while in 3rd or 4th the car instantly reacts very strongly with each 100 rpm increase of the motor. Hitting the throttle hard is an amazing burst of power. Power is one thing but having a crisp reactive throttle tune takes the fun factor of my Viper to another level. I am a firm believer, and feeling the rush of acceleration is believing, in Todd's tuning work. The car has made great gains with the VEC3. The car is more powerful, more responsive and the engine is much smoother. We just couldnt get the stock computer to feel the same. The car feels fantastic now. My Viper was strong before the VEC3 install (488 rwhp & 510 rwtq) and with the VEC3 I went to (521rwhp and 538 rwtq) a gain of 33 rwhp and 28rwtq. I think anyone be satisfied with those numbers from a naturally aspirated stock motor SRT-10.

Keep up the good work Todd and see you again next year for your custom Paxton Setup!!!

Hmmmm. Just doing the right mods slowly in stages. Im in no rush. I thought i could avoid a seperate engine management system, however it turned out to be a very good mod. Todd did the VEC3 install & tune in 2 days.

6 months for only that?

Dipapa has been COMING to A&C Performance for almost 6 months. He's a busy guy so we did the work in stages.

Exhaust, tune and Throttle body came first. Then a few months later, a cat-back change to get the sound where he wanted it, and now just adding the Vec3. We picked up alot of torque down low and especially across the curve.

Time wise Dipapa dropped the car off on Thursday. I stayed late to get the install done that night. Friday we did all the tuning and even did a 101 octane tune.

So maybe a day and a half total.

The car turned out amazing. It's strong, smooth and will surely own some people on the road. A very nice mod that will compliment the supercharger when we add it next year.

Price? $2300 installed with 2 pump gas tunes and one race gas tune. All connections soldered with proper heat shrink and weatherproof connections. Immaculate install, awesome gains.

Dimitri, we appreciate you bringing your Viper to us and being so patient while we were moving to our new facility. As always enjoy the car if you need anything just ring my cell.

Todd, was the SCT an option at the time? The reason I ask is that the SCT can do things that the Vec3 can't do such as tune for closed loop operations, turn on the radiator fan at a lower temp, smoother acceleration, etc. I was curious what made you pick the Vec3 over the SCT.

Todd and Mike have developed a tremendous reputation from the SoCal guys.

They go the extra mile to provide professional Viper services.

Have a excellent working relationship with the other shops, so can provide everything from complete engine builds, to paint, to alignments to dyno work.

We haven't spent much time with the SCT, although we have beein intouch with the advances on it. I haven't heard to many positives on the SCT with boosted Vipers. It seems a good choice on NA cars. We have alot of success with our PCM reflashing in conjunction with the VEC. We get ultra smooth acceleration, stock driveability, it's boost friendly and we like the Methanol injection control.

But the main reason for the Vec on Dipapa's car was the future plans. Although I see the SCT on 1000 HPR mustangs and Gt-40's I haven't seen to many big HP Vipers using it. Bang for the Buck I think the VEC has some versatility.

Paul,

We haven't seen you in too long. We just moved to a new, much larger location. Come visit us. You need to take your "old" car for a spin anyhow.
