In my hunt I stumbled on this build and just had to laugh. Car only has 2k miles on it and the build. The car is 2005 vert, silver in color.

Buyer beware. The car is also missing the built rear end, the KW shocks, aero kit, and my guess would be the motor isn't built either.

Is this car for sale? If so, where at? Did they mention who did the kit(probably homemade)? You're not really helping anyone out unless you give details of the car.

It has been on eBay and is for sale at Scottsdale Ferrari. It isn't a homemade kit. Hennessey Venom 1000

I was going to say it looks like a Hennessey build. The one I had did have a built motor. Pulled it apart to make sure :)

How much would they have charged for a kit like that? Hope it was at least fast, because it looks like crap.

You would be amazed what the others look like. I say these are middle of the road for what I have seen out there.

lol at mistaking a Hennessy kit for a homemade kit. Says a lot about their design and build quality huh?

My favorite part was the modification to the oil pan for the passenger side air filter.

Receipts for the car show almost 70 grand for the build

That's it...I'm starting a new company. I've never designed or built a turbo kit in my life, don't have a welder, etc...I'm just gonna pay a guy $100k/year to do some heavy marketing, and let the cash roll in.

One local guy had a Gen 1 Hennesey Venom 550 or 600 kit. Can't remember. Kept wondering why I drove away from him on the straight aways at Watkins Glen with my stock 98 GTS. I told him the only thing installed on that car was a decal kit. He later sold it. He might do better work now, probably not though. There is a lot of his misrepresented junk floating around.

There doesn't seem to be much of the frame box left where the hose went through....that can't be good......

Correct frame modification. It's likely stronger than OEM...

Guys the builder in question was famous in the mid 90s for every type of theft by deception known (charging tens of thousands for parts upgrades yet keeping stock parts on cars .Taking customer parts off one car and putting them on another Taking customer deposits while their cars sat in his shop for 6 plus months Supplying customers with fake dyno sheets )Basically if a customer was out of state there was a problem (the further from Texas the bigger the problem as he had the customers car in Texas often with tens of thousands of deposit money ) The builder in question mastered putting one company out of business starting another to avoid civil penalitys .Typical story a local NJ guy in the late 90s bought the tuner in question personal car It was a 5000 mile HMS 650 .The builder supplyied the customer with a DYNO JET 248 readout claiming 650 to the tire (completely built motor )The guy pays top dollar for the car to find out it was a HMS TEST MULE in terrible shape needing a rear end. After Mod Perf here in NJ did the repair work we took it to the track where it proceded to run no where near the power level on the dyno sheet provided(the car REALLY made 480 to the tire ) .Research revealed no bottom end work or cyl head work. The, guy had a mild cam and basic bolt ons and was about 170 hp to the wheel shy of the dyno sheet he provided to the buyer Motor Trend is kind to him because he has a relative high up in the mag but the VCA got tired of all the fraud and perm barred him .At the time we were talking in term of millions of dollars here as there were that many complaints .Back then regional VCA meeting would always turn into ***** sessions about who was screwed worse

Can someone show me photos of how to run the piping w/o cutting the frame somewhere. I've been researching other kits and they are all running thru the frame at some point.

I have read story after story after story regarding Hennessy and his shenanigans. How does one not only stay in business....but thrive with those types of business practices? I wonder how he rationalized his behavior?

Because people believe the biased crap they read in the magazines. I know a guy that was going to take his Caddy to Hennessy and drop some major money...until I pointed him in the direction of these posts.

So... those are the air filters on the bottom of the engine, right? Now I know most Viper folk seem to avoid rain and bad weather like the plague (I'm not saying I intentionally sought out rain storms with my old Mustang either), but what happens when you're 100 miles from home and that storm that "wasn't supposed to be there" shows up? OK, you can pull over... for hours. Eventually you're going to hit a puddle. Doesn't that make things stop working? Like... broken connecting rods and bent parts?

Would cutting a hole in the frame make a car fail a state inspection?

Why few people put the turbos up high is beyond me. It doesn't take much to figure out turbos that low is bad news. If you have to put turbos that low, for the love of God, put a intake on it that gets it above puddle sucking hight.
