Thanks, everyone.
I've got my eye on a car or two right now, and I'm actively working on deals. We'll see what happens -- hopefully I'll have some shiny new pictures to post sometime soon.
Ben.
I suppose I'm still used to the stock 2000 GTS creampuff idle that I used to have. :D
Either way, it sounds great and those are good solid numbers. It should be good for mid 10's at low 130's on slicks.
Yeah, I'm still trying to come to a final deal with the seller, but we're getting closer. Hopefully soon, although I'm getting married in November so my schedule is a bit full right now!
Thanks! :D I think my decision is getting a bit easier...and now that you mention it, a nice roe supercharger sounds like a good idea too...hmmm..
Ben.
Thanks for the replies everyone. Pretty much what I figured. I'm still facing the tough decision on whether or not all of the mods are worth the extra cash (knowing myself, I'd probably do most of them and then some anyway!)
AHudson777,
I can't remember where my Steel Grey car went, but...
I'm getting very close to pulling the trigger on another Viper (I had a Steel Grey GTS back in 2000, and I've always missed that car!) I've been following the market for quite a while now, and I feel like I have a fair idea of what these cars are actually selling for, but I could always use some...
TAXIMAN1,
I agree this is a complicated issue, and it may very well be true that the diminished value for a resprayed bumper isn't very much nowadays. However, I believe the fact still remains that the legal precedent exists that dimished value must be paid on third-party, 100% not at fault...
This isn't actually true for 3rd party claims. If the accident is not your fault, the other party must pay to repair your vehicle and the dimished value (you may have to fight and get appraisals to determine exactly how much this really is -- especially on a Viper).
From the Insurance Consumer...
Chad,
I agree with you about mods being worth very little at resale, although big ticket items such as blowers, turbos, or a full heads and cam package are somewhat of an exception. Still, getting a 50% return on say a $20,000 DLM package would be pretty good. Add that to maybe $54,000 for a...

The auction was not ended early, and the winning bid was $57,951. I'm just wondering if he'll really follow through with the deal.

Scroll down and read the section "Octane boosters–do they work?" for some independent tests that have been conducted in the past.

Dean,
I would stick with the stock jet combinations as detailed on the card that comes with the kit as they are purposely rich in order to be safe. When I had my 2000 GTS (making about 423 rwhp on the motor), the NX kit with the 200 jet combination would also send the air fuel ratio right off...
