Viper ACR sets multiple production car track records
I have heard something similar, but even their V710 arent all that fast from my experience, at least not compared to a slick. They are somewhere between a Hoosier A6 and R6. So thinking they made a treaded real street tire faster than a true slick seems like a reach but even at better than R6...- bluestreak

Mid-Ohio Barber Road Atlanta VIR CMP Roebling Talladega GP Need to broaden my horizons........ Haven't had the opportunity to track a Viper yet but will soon in a friends Gen IV ACR race car.- bluestreak

Viper ACR sets multiple production car track records
That 1:26 at Road Atlanta is as fast as the Gen IV ACR-X on slicks. The speed of this thing is unbelievable. 120 mph through turn 12 at Road Atlanta on road tires is unfathomable. Shows how much DF the car is pushing. Many top sports cars are just now catching up with the 2010 ACR, and now...- bluestreak

2016 ACR Competing This Weekend
GRM UTCC.......... A few rags tested it yesterday and today. They will be leaving it and a driver behind to compete in the Grassroots Motorsports UTCC. 2016 Viper ACR and the Nurburgring lap time...
The Nurburgring is so long and is actually a public road, I doubt they could just restrict access to the whole thing and actually enforce that.- bluestreak

There is no other track manufacturers will ship their cars to that tests a car like the nurburgring. Every manufacturer has enough tracks in their own country to test on, there is NOTHING like the nurburgring out there. The closest would be Sebring IMO because of it's roughness. The...- bluestreak

Pirelli's are well faster than R6 without a doubt. The Continental slicks did not have the NASA Non DOT penalty even though they have no grooves because they are slow. I'm still in shock the guy in the (Honda?) took the shortcut through the pit exit to pass the other one that looked just like it. He/She should've been booted from the track for that. At a track like Mid-Ohio, Pirelli slicks will likely be more than 2 seconds faster than R7's. It really is...- bluestreak

I know, but not the same, especially considering the high note Viper racing went out on last year. Incredible job they did in a couple of years from upstarts to champions. Still pulling for Keating and company though.- bluestreak

I think it needs to be noted as well that VIR was repaved at the end of 2013, and is now 2-3+ seconds faster (on the shorter 2:00 full course) than it was when the ACR tested. Were the ACR to test on this couse (grand course) it would be in the 2:43-2:45 range. The ACR is still a beast, will...- bluestreak
