    Some '08 ACR PBox testing

FWIW, my stock car would not leave a stock C6Z in the dust. I raced two about half a dozen times each. The ACR has an advantage in the lower gears (1st and 2nd mostly, especially if the Z06 is on its crappy stock tires), but at high speeds I believe its aerodynamics come into play. In all the...

Aero coupe wing is obviously hollow!!

OP, My ACR was the same way. I took the end-plates off (you'll need a tamper-proof allen key) and opened the trunk to let the water drain out. Then I used black silicon sealant (can be purchased at any auto-parts store) to seal the end-plate to the wing. After that, no more water got in.

    ACR Performance testing

Do the OE mufflers neck down at all, or otherwise present a restriction?

    ACR Wing

With the stock wing and splitter positions, my ACR went 180 mph (179.7 actually, on GPS) and was still pulling. I'd say it would do at least 185 or so. No way does the car top out at 177. It does take a LONG time to pull due to the aero and gearing in 5th, so maybe the people testing its top...

ACR Calipers Sufficient For Road Course Use?

Any stock car is going to fade its brake fluid, and generally its pads too. The SRT-10 Brembo rotors are kept on many full-time race cars. Generally, the most cost-effective upgrade path is fluid, ducting and then pads. I ran Castrol SRF in my ACR, and faded the stock pads pretty easily. The...

    Corvette ZR1 Turns a 10.55 At 137 MPH

If it only ran 137 after parking and icing the intake, especially in that sort of DA, I'm not impressed. I'd have hoped a bolt-on ZR1 would have been quicker, actually. A gen 4 with headers and a MOPAR controller would probably be close to 133. The HP gained from letting the car cool and...

    ACR Modifications

Huge changes can be had from just lowering the car and setting the dampers up, which anyone can do for free. It will gain camber and toe out a bit in front, and toe in a bit in the rear. I wouldn't track an ACR without adjusting the dampers. On their street settings they can IMO feel almost...

    ACR and Aero packages ready

I believe Archer Racing has the splitter and canards ready, and I am told the wing will be ready in less than a month. I'm not sure what the individual prices are, but all-up I think its $8,000.

Got my '08 ACR through Woodhouse

I've had the car since October (and put a ton of miles on it, already on my second set of brake pads and tires) and it really hasn't gotten any better. Not a big deal; I'm not going to pull the mounts out or anything. I just thought it wouldn't be a fair review unless I noted the one minor...

Got my '08 ACR through Woodhouse

Pics? Ok. (I am not affiliated with IMV Films, by the way, but they're friends of mine and took these pics)

    Finally a real member!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mark, Congrats! Let us know if you're ever at a track in the south-east. Are you going to do any VRL events? I'm not sure how much you've driven ACRs around, but the factory splitter is very durable due to the plastic, and flexes upwards when needed. SRT did a great job with it.

For those who drive HARD, how many have spun their Vipers??

Hmm, I think I've spun my '08 ACR five times and I've had it since October. The first time was at EMP after you'd left, Chuck. I cut one of those curbs a bit too close and unsettled the car while being WOT in 2nd. It was my first time really trying to correct for a lot of oversteer in the car...

315 front tire and wheel question

CCW should be able to get you a wheel package for $2900 to $3000 for those size XSs. After talking with John, I decided anodized black (they also do powder coating) SP16Rs in 18x11.5 and 19x13 would be best for my application. I am not sure if he has a 18x12 front wheel that can be matched with...

    DIY Heat Shields for Boots?

Koolmat has some cheap shields they say will work with any Viper. They aren't reflective (which probably isn't a good thing), but they are inexpensive and easy to install. I'm trying them this weekend at Sebring (a brake-intense track) with Mintex F2R pads and Comp Coupe brake ducts on my '08...

Got my '08 ACR through Woodhouse

There isn't much to say except if I was going to buy another Viper, I'd go to Woodhouse first. It was the best experience I've had with a dealership. With the car set up the way it came from Mark J., it broke a track record for a production-based car at our local test track. Not many dealers...
