    2000 GTS tire options ?????

I run the BFG Rivals on my street/track car. Nice tire, very similar to Pilot Sports (Michelin owns BFG) except the BFGs don't seem to need as much camber (Stiffer sidewall?). Note: I run 305's up front. On the track, I find the 305's help turn-in and wear less. On the street, the 305's look...

Rear toe deflects by Half an Inch GenII

There is a bracket to fix this (see link below). I have them installed on my Gen2, which I regularly track. I haven't noticed a big difference in handling (maybe I'm not fast enough). http://www.viperpartsrack.com/index.php?route=product/search&keyword=toe

Help - Engine making weird noise above 4000 rpm near full load

Hard to tell exactly from the video, but, I occasionally get a similar sort of noise from my Gen 2. Ted May (very experienced Viper tech) traced that to a resonance (rattling) in the heat shielding around the side pipes. Try thumping the rockers with the your sneakers and see if you hear the...

Is there a "Sub-Club" of Track Rats?

Once upon a time I was tracking at Laguna Seca and heard about a sub-group of Viper track rats. I seem to recall the group being based in SoCal and called the sidewinders. I would like to participate in that sort of group. Does such a group exist? If so, how do I make contact?

Am I the only one angry with SRT for pulling out of Le Mans?

I believe you can't be considered a serious sportscar without a serious effort to win the world's biggest sportscar race. Le Mans should have been budgeted first, and maybe next year's effort as well, before any other races. Massively disappointed in SRT for this decision.

NorCal VCA Members - Who's left?

Steve, It think may be just you, me and Mike H. Nsane1, If it is just the 3 of us, I suspect we'd all be OK being rolled into a larger region. Meaning, rather than make a lot of work creating a legal entity for NorCal and "staffing" it to satisfy incorporation rules, just merge us with...

NorCal VCA Members - Who's left?

Nsane1, Can you elaborate on "a few" (how many registered VCA members live in the NorCal region, as opposed to vendors etc from out of region who may join multiple regions)? I suspect it's just me.

Best and Worst Mods for GTS?

A can't miss Mod: side sill venting. I also second the vote for "Henry Cone" brake cooling.

Comments on living with a 4 Post lift?

With the exception of the lengthy trip to China!, thanks for the good feedback. For the past few weeks , my existing garage door opening has been bisected by a bicycle flag, to see about the navigating in and out from under a 4 post. It's been a non-issue. So, with that experience and your...

Comments on living with a 4 Post lift?

I agree 2 post is the way to go IF the focus is purely service. However, as Treesnake's pictures so vividly demonstrate, some of us (even those with super deep garages and an indecent number of Vipers:2tu:) use our garages for other stuff besides just cars. A 4 post and especially a single...

Comments on living with a 4 Post lift?

This is not a "Which one should I buy?" or "Will it fit?" thread. We have a zillion of those, and I have read them all. I am planning on purchasing a lift and can't decide between a 4 post and a single post. From a purely practical standpoint, the 4 post would seem to be a no-brainer; it's...

    Vented Hoods on GTS?

You live in So Cal, you can eliminate the antifreeze to get a bit more heat capacity running straight distilled water. Water wetter or Cosworth's (Tom's) Coolant have enough lubricant and anti-corrision additives to keep you safe. Although, 220 isn't hot, so you may never "solve" the...
