All three are not that much different but by having just one model without the significantly high price tag of the GTS and with the good reviews it has gotten, it might have psychologically worked out better for potential buyers. Who knows, it didn't happen that way so no idea if that would...- patgilm

I think if they would have just come out with the TA (but not call it a TA) but in any color and got rid of the base model and GTS maybe they would have been okay. One kick ass model, somewhat reasonably priced if you could negotiate near $105k new and new gearing that would allow it to run...- patgilm

You are correct, I haven't launched it but wouldn't that only be fun in a straight line? What about spirited driving on back roads, how would launch control make it more fun for me there? I'm one of the few but for a weekend car give me a manual. To me it is just more engaging/fun. I don't care if the DCT is faster, if the GTR was offered in a manual I would have gotten that. I like driving my GTR and yes it is actually fun to drive but when I am doing normal driving in auto mode...- patgilm

Regardless of all of its deficiencies, I remember the opposite back in 1996. It seemed to me that it was always built for the track and most articles highlighted its track capabilities. One mag even had it racing against an R1 motorcycle.- patgilm

Couldn't you say the same thing about Nissan and the GTR? Nissan isn't exactly the marquee of japanese brands but I guess the GTR has had the reputation but wasn't offered here before 2009. It's not like the service at Nissan is any better than Dodge. I think the performance was what was able...- patgilm

sad news...viper plant shuttered until end June.
I keep seeing your posts about the Turbo S and I saw a recent review of the new 911 Turbo S and it was slower than the previous model. It ran 10.9 at 123mph and the reviewers were surprised given the changes. I wonder if older Turbo S owners are disappointed and complaining like some of the...- patgilm

Had to ruin my car today :'(
I just don't like the look of having a front plate on any car and sometimes I won't have one on my daily drivers unless the dealer already put holes in my bumper. In MD it has actually gotten me out of at least three speeding tickets and by just giving me a front plate ticket instead which is...- patgilm
