Trunk Emblem VS. Front Bumper Emblem
RT/10 has LED Strip Center High Mounted Brake Light so the trunk emblem is a standard style badge. The GTS has the lighted emblem as the Center High Mount brake lamp.- Ratical2

I think my belt broke ... dark out. Lost power steering after taking a turn ---
That tug that you felt was most likely the PS Pulley breaking and that is why the belt is off. It happen to me twice before I upgraded to IPSCO. The job is straight forward if you have the right puller. I did it on mine and Maurice's car. Do a search for Power Steering Pulley and you will...- Ratical2

John, concerning your question, What would cause the connector to melt? First thing that comes to mind is a poor or dirty connection.
