Thousands of trailer miles and tons of track/race days here. I use both the winch and drive in. There are many reasons to use the winch to pull the car in and even let it out (unload). If I have help I will drive it up since its just faster. As to keeping the car in gear while its being...
Put a heat shield between your headers and the clutch line. Then insulate the heck out of the clutch line also. Used to be a problem for me with the balanger headers. Not anymore. Would go to the floor regularly even with Motul 600 before I insulated it. Just too much heat in that area.
Yes Race Ramps are what you want. My race car is very low and the front splitter Is a pain with even short inclines. Race ramps are over priced like someone said above but they do seem to last and get the job done well.
There are two aspects to the failures. First the pump, there isn't much you can do here and I haven't found any particular reason as to when they go. Obviously racing Slicks put a bit more load on the pump but I honestly don't think that causes it. The next area of failure is in the OEM line...
Your supposed to put a vacuum on the reservoir tank. However I have replaced my pump and lines more then I want to say and just fill it get the engine up to full temp and turn the wheels back and forth. NOTE that you need to be certain not to over or underfill the fluid. Make certain it falls...
I can't speak to the reliability of a Gen1. I can however tell you that the Gen3 engine is a beast and extremely reliable on track WITH full on SLICKS! I race mine and its a track only (fully caged and race prep). My engine is completely stock other then exhaust bolt on. You do however need to...
Your power steering pump (runs the fan) is either low on fluid or going bad. IMO I have replaced mine twice maybe three times (as most anyone who owns a Gen3). It's only heard when the fan runs and since that follows rpm speed (heat temps) to some degree it will rise with rpm. First mine would...
Technically you are not supposed to re use the wheel after it has been removed (according to the book) however I know for fact that it does just fine on even a racing environment. So I would be lead to think that the hole wasn't to the same specs as the OEM? Just a guess anyway.
I have searched but can't seem to find this answer..... How much do the new "Ultra light Sidewinders" weigh? Or better question is how much lighter are they than the first version? Thanks
Not sure what Valve covers you have? I don't see a problem with having a T setup like that Saam. As long as the hose size is adequate that should be fine.
Hey Sam , I have a system that each side vents into one can. The only thing they share is the overflow can. Near the bottom of this thread is the same setup I have. You will notice that two separate lines go from each valve cover into the vented can. It works great...
I use RLC Track Commander and it is awesome! It controls your GoPro and is way more reliable then anything you can get on your Iphone. However with anything this good it comes at a price. They cost near 1K and can be used as a data logger also. I have used this for well over 3 years now highly...
