BINGO.... this is the problem. GENI filter mounting with GENII suspension. You've never eally scraped a knuckle till you do a GEN1.5 oil change..I think that loosening the brake line connector will make it much easier.
Thanks... next time I'm going to loosen the brake line from the chassis to give it that extra bit of room. This is the most insane filter setup I've seen.
Just changed the oil and filter... what started out as an easy afternoon project turned into 3 hours of frustration and cursing. Am I missing something here as far as getting the old filter out and the new filter in ??.I doesn't go straight down or rearward and barely managed to scrap out...
Correct answer. And there's a white and blue one that resides a stones throw from the shore that you could have seen in person.... Mr "I drove 200 miles for lunch but didn't invite anyone"..!!
you can make it work with an adaptor harness but why bother..the GenII unit is garbage anyway so you might aswell put an aftermarket in for the same effort.
will not work and it's a pain in the ass to try and make it...and it's not a good unit anyway. Better off putting a modern unit in. Sony xplode works well and is cheap.
replace engine and trans mounts asap.. a nice trans mount can be had at autozone, ENS-3-1108G . The engine mounts need to come from a Viper parts vendor, I'm sure they'll chime in.
