Achilles99 is correct. I bought this SC on eBay last month from Slithrn. I was going to install it on my GTS but decided not to proceed due to a recent change in finances... I believe it had about 3000 miles use. Roe Racing installed it for Slithrn and removed it as well. I had sent in the...
I use a trickle charger in winter attached thru wires installed in the engine compartment, so I never see the battery. I was starting a Viper project and needed to disconnect the battery. Under the battery tray area on the frame rail I found white debris typical of a leak. Took the battery...
It's a straight forward do it yourself project. I did mine on a Saturday in my garage, no lift, usual tools, took my time and only had a few glitches, mostly related to not being sure how much room I needed. I did the side sill cover mod at the same time, so took me longer than most :2tu:
Noticed my Viper pulling to the left while cruising Sat, went home to check tire pressures, found a nearly flat front tire with a nail in it. Took the wheel up to the local tire place, they found the sidewall bad due to driving on it nearly flat... so they were going to order one...
I put Belangers on, and read up extensively before removing the stock system. You should disconnect the battery before starting your project, as the starter positive terminal is right under the work area and even a wrench falling on it can give you a direct short. The starter does not have to...
Three of the top six side sill screws on both sides of my GTS seemed to be stripped, and one of the bottom ones on each side. While working on the exhaust I decided this would be a good time to do the side sill cover mod as described in the Forum "how-to" section. I found that all of the top...
Re: Advice On \"BATTERY TENDER\' Unit For Winter
Or, you can get one at Sears for $30. As long as it's a sensing unit that only trickle charges to a set voltage, it will do the job. I used one on my Viper all winter with no problems. I attached a small connector to the charging posts and...
Sears $25. I hooked up a quick connect (electric model airplane parts) right off the jump posts under the hood and clipped the lead inside the side vent openings - I just reach in and connect it anytime the Viper sits for any time
This one's a keeper. I had a 57 Vet for 20 years, and since then they last 2 or 3 years max. My 99C5 lasted 3 years. I can't imagine what I would ever want different, and I can't say the next generation Vipers do much for me
