    I have 116K miles on mine. The first one went at about 70K then second time at 116K. It's very simple to check. Just jack the car up one side at a time and check a rear tire for side to side movement. 10 mins to eliminate this as the issue.

    The cat back is pretty easy other than the hi flow cats have to be welded on. Headers installation depends a lot on whose you buy. You do not have to pull the motor, but it may help to loosen the motor mounts and be able to jack it for extra clearance.

    how much torque can a stock diff take?

    I'm not sure what they were rated for but I ran nitrous on my Gen I with over 700ftlbs on the ground and never had a problem with the stock differential. But I granny shifted and never ran anything stickier than Michelins at the drag strip. So I would say it depends on what you do with it.

    The optima in my 2001 died after 12 years as well. I think we found their maximum life, but that's still at least twice as long as any other battery I've owned.

    Changed my battery now my 94 won't start

    It sounds like a key fob resync issue, but that normally shuts the car off after a few seconds. Turn the switch to the on position and hold both fob buttons down until the alarm responds. Should be 5 to 10 seconds and then retry. This is a pretty normal thing to do after the battery is replaced.

    It's really not that bad of a job to do. 8 hours if you are good with tools. Just get someone to help you take the hood off and the rest is pretty easy for one person. Drop in a 170 deg thermostat while you are there :)...$700 to $800 in parts is about right.

    No alarms, makes me think it wouldn't be a cam or cranks sensor. No misfire codes either. Hmm. Key Fobs not synched would let the car start for a moment before shutting off. Coil packs? Fuel pump not actually pumping? Check for fire and fuel first. ECU possibly too.
