$150,000.00+ is just toooo many zeros for me to spend for a GTS. I'll just keep what I've got. It was paid for a long time ago, and it still looks and runs great.
You were lucky. Soon after I got my '96 GTS (16 years ago), a cop gave me a speeding ticket. I know that I wasn't exceeding the speed limit. I think he just wanted to brag to his cop buddies about getting a Viper.
I agree with you. Sometimes, it's really hard to improve on a concept, even if it's "old". The 1996 GTS may be a 17 year old design, but its lines are timeless, and my car still turns heads everywhere I go. I have owned many cars over the years, and none have stirred people's emotions like my...

My gut feeling is that realistically, with sales tax, it will take $130K to take a loaded GTS home. However, when you compare the technology, quality of materials, and performance of this car to similar cars from Italy or Germany, $130K is a screaming BARGAIN.
Both my garages are alarmed, security company signs are easily seen, wife and I are heavly armed and not afraid to splatter an intruder's brains on the wall. My best deterrent is a sign I had made which says "Warning - homeowner is armed. If you're caught in this house, you will be shot on...
Every time I get back from driving my GTS, my wife tells me I smell like plastic. I never really notice it though. I tell her that it's better than her smelling Chanel #5 on me after I get back. :)
After a few runs down the track, I noticed that the tranny has developed a high pitched whine. This is most evident when I let off the gas and coast in 3rd gear, but it happens in all gears. Have I trashed my tranny?? :(
I have a lot of fun at car dealers too, but I do things a little differently. I pull up in my S-600 Benz, well dressed, wearing my gold Rolex. I'm courteous, but I act like I own the place. I ask to speak to the sales manager. I TELL him what I want to drive, and I TELL him that I want it...
I agree with above 100%. Use the vinegar to get rid of the majority of the mineral salts before you use anything else on the surface. Simple chemistry.
I couldn't agree more. As a matter of fact, I told my wife just yesterday that I want to be shown at my funeral IN MY GTS with my hands on the wheel and a smile on my face. :headbang:
Impressive results. The numbers are almost identical to what my Heffner 1000 SCi produces. The AEM will most likely be my next upgrade. I'm glad it will be out in 8 weeks. :2tu:
