I think the new limited edition cars have been really nice. I really like the TA. 640 HP is plenty if it is putting the power down efficiently. Look at the 911 (530-540hp). It puts down some of the best1/4 mile times and great trap speeds. 640hp is enough if they had a much better traction...
This is good news for the viper. However, I don't see gm coming out with a z06 that won't at least perform similiar to 911 turbo, GTR, 458, etc. Im sure 0-60 wont be 2's but 1/4 mile or other stats will be on par with the other, very low 11 or high 10's.

im with Maui on this one. I drive them hard after idling for a bit and 5-10 miles. My 08 ran hard! 11.19 @129mph in a completely 100% stock car. I ran it to red line after 5-10 miles. If your cars are slow its because you broke them in slow.
If the air and track were not that good then why is a bone stock 911 doing exactly what they always post up? The viper would have lost to a 458 and a 911 that day with MT drag radials. Not a stellar showing for the snake. It should be in the high tens at 130+mph to be competitive in this current...
I don't think that is a very good time with drag radials. The mph should have been 130-132 mph. I've run 129mph multiple times out of my gen4 at Vegas which is 2200 ft elevation with original pilot sports.

I dont agree with you on the ZR1 being at its limits. Its very cheap to add a pulley and a tune and get great performance increase. Adding boost to an already boosted car doesnt compromise reliability.
Well, SRT has their work cut out for them. If their goal was to match the ZR1's performance numbers they get an A. Its hard to get any closer. I know MT doesnt care for the Viper but I guess I expected better performance in everyway on and off track.
