Any tips for visiting LA in October?

To find a dealer to see if they have the new Viper in their showroom, go to http://www.autotrader.com search the make = "SRT" within zip code = "90045" (here I used LAX airport) and make = "Viper". You may want to enter 25 miles or farther for your search criteria instead of the default of 10...

Any tips for visiting LA in October?

Yes, that would be fine. But you sure will be missing out on the Cars & Coffee in Irvine. Since you're from Germany and coming down in October, we like you to feel at home at our Oktoberfest at Alpine Village in Torrance (Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights)...

    GTS Cover

I believe the factory gray cover I have with the Viper Sneeky Pete logo is an Evolution fabric, which is a relatively thick cover that offers good protection from dings. But you can check out the various fabric guide from Covercraft and decide which would best suit your needs here >>>...

    Fixed my A/C for $4!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Did the same here. I bought the HNBR Rubber O-ring Kit (green o-rings), specifically the 24-piece assorted kit from Autozone. From the chart size diagram on the back of the packaging, here's what I used: Larger size: 13.8 x 2.5mm Smaller size: 10.8 x 2.4mm

Draining gas tank on '98 RT/10

Yeah, tried that already, but discovered it's a REAL PITA to get the fuel filter out from underneath. The so-called "quick disconnects" are not so and I wasn't a happy camper getting gas dripped on my face. Skip it unless you know for sure your filter is clogged and needs replacing. It's much...

    Fixed my A/C for $4!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mine was the same way. I have an '02 GTS, I'm the original owner and I've never had any AC service done before whatsoever. Here's a pic, originals on the left, new ones on the right:

    Fixed my A/C for $4!!!!!!!!!!!!!

^that's the one thing I would recommend after changing out the o-rings, pull a vacuum to make sure to pull out any moisture in the system, then recharge. I didn't do this step and I'm a little concerned even though it does blow cold air now, but will do the next time around.

Draining gas tank on '98 RT/10

What Tom Sessions said. "I would jumper the fuel pump relay and use the fuel pressure tap in the intake manifold to pump the fuel out of..." Pull out the fuel pump relay, run a bypass wire to connect the ignition switch output to the fuel pump relay output. What this does is allows you to...

    Fixed my A/C for $4!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Photos from underside...the A/C compressor is on the driver's side, the lines go up and over. It's a very tight area to get your hands through to loosen the 10mm bolts.

    Anyone with Car Lift info?

franchise: That's great news from your contractor. You will need a minimum of 4" for the "cushion", but the more higher, the better!

    Anyone with Car Lift info?

franchise: What is the length of your garage? Since you were looking to get a convertible, I was thinking you can put the Chevelle on top, and put the convertible with the top down, but back it in and stop before the windshield. The lift could be placed as far back to the garage as possible so...

    Anyone with Car Lift info?

My electrical source is an outlet from the ceiling which I have an extension cord that hangs down to the pump unit. In case if the pump motor ever gets stuck on the "on" position, I can easily yank the plug out. Normally, I keep it unplugged until I need to use it. My "Up" pump button is 66" off...

    Anyone with Car Lift info?

Jim: I'm counting the locks (or clicks every 6") as it goes up. At the eighth one, I stop. I also have it marked with a contrasting blue tape on the post and rail to tell me where to line them both and stop. Mine's a 115V unit, so it goes up slowly vs. a 220V which would go up twice as fast...

    Anyone with Car Lift info?

franchise: I see you mentioned 54" for one car, I'm guessing that's your 70 Chevelle. My bad for not catching that earlier. At 108" ceiling and one car being 54", that's not much left to fit the second car, maybe a lowered GTS/SRT coupe? The other thing I was thinking of, was, if you plan to...

    Anyone with Car Lift info?

franchise: The variable that's missing is the height of the cars you plan to store. You said your ceiling height is 108". You plan to get a Viper, but which one (Gen I, II, GTS or?) Need to know the height of that specific car. Also, need to know the exact height of your 70 Chevelle? Formula...

Need a little help guys. (battery area)

I agree with Jim and Ken, must be some kind of battery mat material. The original Mopar battery was notorious for puking out battery acid. BTW, that's gotta be the cleanest battery tray I've ever seen. Here's a pic from my archives.

would you own a C5 Zo6 as your daily driver?

Wheels: 2001 = Alcoas, forged. 2002-2004 = Speedlines, cast, should be a lighter. As Leslie said, 2004 shocks are improved. Also the Z16 (2004) is the one with the CF hood, LeMans blue with the twin silver stripes and red pinstriping. In general, each year got better.

would you own a C5 Zo6 as your daily driver?

I own both a 2002 GTS and a 2003 Z06 electron blue, both factory stock. The Z06 is my daily driver, it's comfortable enough to drive everyday and gets very respectible gas mileage, high teens around town and got up to 27.5 mpg on the highway, it gets just as good a mileage as my wife's Accord...

    Tire Dressing . .

x4 Adams VRT (Vinyl/Rubber/Tire). Dries semi-gloss, has SPF 30 UV protection. Best stuff I've ever used for the tires and plastic trim. I buy it by the gallon with the optional pump and do all my cars with it.
