The MOPAR Performance ECU is useful for a number of things for which it was not really intended. What was it primarily designed to do, does anyone know?
Strange occurrence. Drove the car (1998 GTS) about 50 miles from home, ran fine. Shut it off and upon startup noticed that the fuel pump didn't prime when the key was turned. Must not work because the starter turns the engine but it won't start.
Looked at the underhood fuse box and...
I've always understood that the OEM coilpacks in the Gen 2's were good for all N/A applications and that only when TT/SC engines were approaching the 900-1000+ HP range did the coils need a "boost" to keep up. In trying to tune the most recent N/A build on my car, there's an apparently...
Just for amusement, check out my passenger's response to a spin at Road Atlanta this past weekend. It got warmer than I expected earlier in the day and I didn't guess right on tire pressures so after three laps the R6's were like rocks at 44 psi....hence the...
I'd like to know what differences exist between a 98 GTS-R from the factory and a 98 GTS from the factory. Especially stuff underneath the car....not interior bits or cosmetics. I.e. were there different gussets/welds in places that can be seen from underneath? Is the frame/suspension...
Sorry to not include pictures but it happened on track and the pieces are littered around....several folks did find pieces (in their headlight in one case!).
Has anyone ever had the bolt holding the spring-tensioner pulley snap off? If it were any other shaft I would think maybe the belt was...
The parking brake on my 98 GTS works once every three or four tries. Lately its been more like every 5-6 tries. I know its not engaging correctly but even when the car's on the lift I can't see where it has jumped a pulley or something. Can someone advise where to look for the culprit pulley?
I think I just saw (on the text at the bottom of the screen) that a 2001 Viper went for $27K on Barrett Jackson. Did anyone see what happened....did it have dolphins on it or something?
Are there any outwardly-visible differences between Gen 2 heads and Striker heads? What I mean is can you tell a Striker head while its on the car and under a valve cover. I've never seen one and don't know whether this is possible. Anyone with Strikers know?
I've been chasing a clunk for a while now....obviously unsuccessfully.
The car makes a metallic "clunk" noise from the rear when the suspension unloads....as when you go over a bump....doesn't make noise when you go up the bump, just when you go down after it...when the suspension unloads.
I...
The GA VCA Memorial Day party was a blast. I didn't get any pix but I saw a bunch of people taking pix....so post 'em if you've got 'em.
Thanks again to Scott and his family and Palmer Dodge for hosting a great event.
I don't use the AC a lot so I don't have statistically-valid data on this, but it seems that in the past few months my AC behaves in a weird way.
When I start the car, windows up and turn the AC on quickly, it blows cold and everything in the cabin stays nice and cool. If I turn off the...
I have finally run the edges off my Kumho V700's....loved those things (though the leading edge of my sills didn't).
They no longer make 'em the right size (335 or 345 18), so I'm wondering what to get next.
The V710 and the Hoosier R6 are technically street tires (they have the DOT grooves)...
For anyone who cares, I posted a report on AMP in the Georgia section......but figured since very few people actually go to that section, I'd post a link to it here as well.

Hey guys, AMP is open for business. I haven't driven it but by hanging around some of my track pals who're members took me out for several sessions of hot laps. Here're my impressions in case you care:
I did an at-speed ride-along this weekend for a session....didn't drive it but have...
Hey Steve, another person with keys locked in car at the track. His name is Chris. I must've mis-filed your number because I know we've spoken about this before. I don't know Chris (he found my phone number from the post last fall) but if you'd be willing to call, check out his "realness"...
For any of you out there who EVER consider ANYTHING from Dynamic Distributing, STOP. Based in Oregon, their products are Chinese and don't fit properly even though Dynamic Distributing will swear that they will. If you ask to return anything to Dynamic Distributing you get the most obnoxious...
I'm trying to get in touch with Catwood, does anyone know if Cat's still out there in Viperland? (have PM'd and all the stuff i can think of already....)
Thx in advance
There have probably been a bunch of 'em in California and Florida but the first one we attended was last week at Road Atlanta.
NARRA is coming to RA in April, hope to see some Viper brothers and sisters there!
Some pix of the mixed-group action
The Blue #2 was certainly faster when Rusty...
Has anybody out there had experiences good or bad with rear view cameras (Viper or not)?
I'm tired of the blind spot (directly behind me caused by the rollcage and wing) and want to add a rear view camera with a screen on the dash. A super cheapie (like are sometimes used on the back of...
I had a weird situation with the go pedal on a 98 GTS racecar today. It was dark when I left the track so I'll come back with a flashlight tomorrow to check it out but wonder if anyone has been down this road and can advise me on fasteners/clips/other stuff that might be required to fix...
This is a repost of some stuff going on in an oil change thread, but it didn't get a response from Tom there so rather than hijack that one, here's the question:
I have been told that the standards and measures for qualifying/defining synthetic oils has changed. E.g. certain additives like...
