Hey "AL", welcome. I recall seeing a used one on eBay a few months ago but don't think it was discounted much. There has been a new black one listed at "invoice $117k" for a while. With the car being so hot, I would assume that's a pretty good deal... good luck on your search.
If B/W is important, you know that '96-97 are the years. If keeping stock, I would say '96, if building it as you mentioned, I would go '97 since you may save a few$ bucks over '96. Personally, I'm partial to the '02 FE red/white. Good luck with the hunt!
Sounds like a nice show, great pics. Funny, I have an 11 yr old son who also loves the car. I've caught myself a few times, being sure not to have him see me get too hung up on a car. Its just a car. I'm sure your leak is fixed and you will have many more shows to enjoy.
Great question, some times the hunt can be really fun. I've owned 3 Gen 2 GTS cars (1 was an '01 ACR). The ACR definitely rode much stiffer, but still manageable. You will want to know the condition of the stocks or have it inspected prior to purchase (ACR) as they are costly. If not...
2013 New GTS, bought 12/18/14, 212 miles just a few drives, looking forward to about 2,000 miles this Summer. 10 years, 5 Vipers ,about 15,000 total miles..
Welcome back Bat (soon). I've sold a few Vipers with thoughts of getting something different but always found my way back home. I've always enjoyed the hunt/search, too so I wish you luck in finding what you are looking for... If I were looking to get back into a Gen 3 I would look for an '06...
Interesting post.. I am waiting for delivery on my new 2013 White w/ gunmetal stripe GTS and am considering adding the CF aero pkg, although I would not paint since my white / gunmetal stripes might make the CF aero pop even more. Good luck with your decision, post pics if you do it.
He paid low $70s ($143k original MSRP) for a new/demo car with 780 Miles and full warranty. I had just purchased their other leftover GTS (white/black) the week earlier.
Awesome, congrats! I made the post to share a positive buying experience and inform Viper Nation of that car being available at great terms. Mission accomplished. John
I've posted my positive buying and and selling experiences on both Viper sites and if you read my profiles you will see I always have positive, encouraging complimentary posts on either site. Why ask such a question? I just figure we all enjoy our cars and my motive was to let other members...
Think of housing prices a few years back. Prices kept falling because there were more sellers than buyers. Gov programs stepped in (like it or not) with HARP refinances and some other incentives to refi with no equity to keep pople in their homes, etc. and it slowed the selling down. Finally...
I believe the price drop and loyalty coupons are squarely aimed at reducing inventory and keeping the brand alive, which appears to have worked well these past few months...
