Nice find! I used some nylon Dorman washers from O'reilly's that were only $1 each but it's nice to find the real thing at a reasonable price. Thanks for sharing.
Oh man, I hope you're wrong. How the heck am I supposed to get them back on if I drill them out? I don't have a riveting gun...lol. Seriously, has anyone gotten these off and back on successfully? I can't spray paint em in the car...lol
I have already replaced my rear speakers years ago but could never figure out to remove the rear speaker grill covers that are attached to the carpeting. They are attached with what looks like 3 round metal rivets going through a cardboard ring. I can turn them with needle nose pliers but they...
Bigger filter media is good but I also would like to see hard facts. What is the measured contaminant capacity? What is the efficiency rating based on standard ISO tests of known particle size? Purolater prints these facts right on the box so they should not be proprietary information to Mopar...
MadMax - thank you for taking one for the team and cutting up your new filters. Just out of curiosity, how many pleats does the Viper filter have vs. the M1?
Dave brings up an excellent point. Increased pressure is increased restriction to flow, not an increase in volume of flow.
Dave - Can you share with us what specific concerns you brought up that were not addressed?
I used a Purolater Pure One two oil changes ago, excellent filter. Oil pressure was the same as the Viper spec filter (40-60 PSI on my car). I went back to the Viper spec filter on the last oil change, its only $6 more plus shipping. The case is definatley stronger (couldn't even slightly push...
Not a big deal. There are several areas where water pools after a wash. The gas cap is just one. The lower sides around the rear glass hatch and the side mirror uprights are others. Just get a turkey baster and suck up the water when your done, or get an electric leaf blower to blow the water out.
Funny thing was, I was expecting it to die while spraying but it wouldn't stop running. The engine RPMs went up by itself while I was spraying. I had a friend in the car to shut it off after the cans were empty. My car has almost 72K miles on it, so maybe there was some carbon buildup that was...
I sprayed two cans of this cleaner (one in each throttle body) with the engine running and it really seemed to smooth out the idle and seemed to make the motor run better. Not sure if its placebo effect or it really cleaned things up. Anyone else use this...
My plastic pulley grenaded in Vegas at VOI9. Fortunatley, I was able to buy the one Dave (RIP) had on display. Had it since then. No issues at all with a metal pulley. Do it ASAP.
Ha! I already lost one screw and I think theres another one in there from a previous owner. I have a couple of rare earth magnets from a dismantled computer hard drive that should work. Thanks Steve and Dave for the great tips.
Sweet. Thanks Dave. I got a can of Rustoleum flat black. I'll exchange it for the satin. Any prep work needed? I'm thinking of giving the existing paint a light wet sanding with 2000 grit before painting. Thoughts?
Any advice on what type of paint to use or general "how-to" on repainting the black hood grille covers? They are off the car and I would like to get them looking like new again.
Looks like this article has been circulating on the web for awhile. Here it is back in 2006 on NSXprime. Seems to cause a freakout whenever it appears. People start to think they are destroying their engines with anything other than RP.

Found this interesting previous post of Toms:

I am going to continue using Mobil 1 TDT until Tom tells me otherwise. I would probably put ketchup in my crankcase if he told me to cuz he is the man...
This is almost the same test that RP touts on their website. Not saying it's not a valid test or that RP isn't a great oil, but just interesting that this article would use this test exclusively and not go into the other factors that make a great oil. Also interested to hear what Tom chimes in...
