    RT/10 Trunk floor

Fun Fact. The RT/10 only has the swing out rod instead of shocks for the rear deckled to save weight. Viper sales would have been higher if they were more refined but then again, purists like myself appreciate the form follows function method of design.

Still Loving my 2000 RT/10 after over 20 yrs

My last post was Oct 2012. The macro events have been insane since then and I hope all are well here. Just wanted to report that after 20 yrs of ownership of my 2000 RT/10, I still enjoy driving her as much as day one and still get regular compliments on it. I have averaged 1K miles/yr and have...

    Finally got my new Viper

Congrats on your new Viper with a sweet color combo. I have had my 2000 RT/10 for 8 yrs and still get that grin. Getting the skip shift deactivated will make it much easier to drive. A code reader/clearer at Wal Mart is $60-80 dollars and well worth it for piece of mind and is easy to...

Paying Cash, Financing, or Can't Afford It

I am waiting for somebody to buy a 2014, drive it less than 15k miles in 3-4 years and then sell it. At that point, I will evaluate my investments and see if I can splurge. As awesome as the new Viper is, retiring a few years sooner is very important to me. I am also challenged because my...

    Pic of SRT Hood

There was a GTS R style aftermarket hood with more vents for the Gen II that was a hot seller because it was more aggressive looking and actually helped cool better. The aftermarket gave the Gen III and IV the Competition Coupe hood with more vents. The same logic applies to the SRT hood on...

How many are waiting on a Gen V Vert?

It is interesting that the coupe is coming out first this Generation. I am guessing that SRT didn't want to delay returning to LeMans as demonstrated at the unveiling of the GTS-R alongside the Gen V. I think Ralph and SRT made the right decision because racing will update the street cred and...

I asked Ralph about mule ride height..

I've posted it before and here it is again. Ralph and SRT have given me everything I asked for in the old "wish list" thread. And now the weight is lighter than planned also. Thanks SRT for giving us a Viper that inspires us to work hard so we can buy one.

Gen 5 ACR two tone with driver's stripe - Forza Motorsport Version

+1 The front view of the Gen IV ACR is probably the most aggressive looking on a production car ever made possibly including the Gen II ACR front. SRT did a spectacular job with styling the sides and rear of the Gen V. I have got to see that car in person. To this day I have yet to see...

Gen 5 ACR two tone with driver's stripe - Forza Motorsport Version

I am not feeling that color scheme on the curves of the Gen V. It looks best on the more angular Gen IV.

SRT Viper #001 to be sold for charity, How much?

$300k is actually a great price considering it will be identical to every other Gen V that year. The only reason it went above dealer pricing was for charity and apparently the charity was stingy this year. It was awesome to see the Gen V on TV for my first time.

    Traded my Viper yesterday...

I have a 6cyl 2010 Challenger. It is the best looking practical car you can buy today. I can comfortably taxi my kid and friends to places filled with minivans without having the lifeless driving experience of a minivan. The trunk is just huge. George, you might as well still post here...

So, which hood do you like better?

I think it is awesome that SRT is actually polling our opinion on the actual look of the Gen V hoods indirectly. They really want to get it right. I voted the SRT hood because it is more aggressive looking than the GTS hood. A few have mentioned that they wanted the GTS hood to be deeper...

Viper PURIST, what is the line/definitiion

Purist sports car definition... A vehicle where form follows function. Direct mechanical connections need to be made with gas, brakes, and steering to be as purist as possible. Simplicity and reliability are to be preferred to unnecessary innovation. This philosophy usually results in a...

Some time has passed - these are my IMOs

ABS does not work well and specifically not on ice. Pumping the brakes and having full control of the pressure on the pedal works better for me personally. When ABS activates, it virtually takes over the car and makes steering difficult.

Some time has passed - these are my IMOs

After some time of reading this thread I have learned nothing except for the shocking pic Nine Ball made of his disassembly of a C6 to get at the clutch. :omg: I going to have to trade my wife's 99 C5 in before it needs work and I pay an arm and a leg. I also think his other cars in the...

    Check engine code PO135

I actually did look up that thread Life is Good. Thanks. My car is stock as far as I know since I am not the original buyer. Like the thread you listed, I cleared the code and plan on taking a much needed highway drive to hopefully work out contaminants.

    Check engine code PO135

PO135 is listed as an oxygen sensor heater element malfunction. My 2000 RT/10 has only 23k miles. Is this a code I can override and hope doesn't come up again or will I actually need to change the 02 sensor.

    Check engine code PO135

I just bought an Innova 3030 to read and hopefully override my check engine light. I got a PO135 code. I am looking it up now but any help from those more informed would be of huge assistance. Thanks in advance.
