    Windshield Wipers Sword-fight

I had the same issue years ago. If I remember correctly, one side has a positon sensor and when the blades meet your sensor isn't working correctly. I know I was able to Frankenstein a setup back together much cheaper than buying a new unit but it's been so long ago I can't remember how. I think...

    Wire connections for 96 GTS

Wow! Thank You! I already bought the back up switch connector from ebay. The local Dodge dealer said the part was discontinued. Thanks again!

    Wire connections for 96 GTS

Where would I go about getting the black wire connectors at the end of my wiring harnesses? I specifically need the connectors labeled C113 and C301 in the 96 GTS service manual. They're both fried and too far into the head to replace. I would rather not simply hard wire them. Any...

    Wiper Motor FYI

Trust me. I've done many searches on the subject and knew I needed to swap out the driver's side motor but was appalled by the difference in price between a driver's side motor and a passenger side motor. I honestly didn't see any driver's side specific wiper motors that were in the same price...

    Wiper Motor FYI

I thought I'd share what I recently learned in fixing my wiper motor problem. I've had the problem where my passenger side wiper motor was acting up and colliding with the drivers side arm. I never tried to fix it because in Alabama cars don't have to go through safety inspections every year...

    1996 b/w, $37,900

Not flawless. Steering wheel is cocked even when the wheels are straight just like my 96 GTS. Mine's paid for and I'd be homeless before I sold it to anyone, but I'd be lying if I told anyone it's flawless. Something happened to that car.

    Windshield wipers not in sync

This also happened to my 96 GTS recently. Are you saying it's possible that the dealer will replace them for free? I heard the motors are INCREDIBLY expensive and I have to pass my local inspection to get my car tagged again.

    Emissions/saftey inspection

I've recently moved from Birmingham, AL to Memphis, TN. I'm wondering if there will be any emissions or saftey checks to go through when registering my car. I don't have cats and I also have the dreaded windshield wiper motor problems where they just quite working one day. I still have...

    WTF?? $3.00 piston rods?

Having a degree in Metallurgy I will tell you that both of you could be right. You can actually get parts made from the same base material to achieve different densities. PM parts CAN BE DROP FORGED as well. I can clear this up later, but I just had an awful night and I'm tired.

Best Music to Listen to While Driving Your Viper

I have a habit of making mix CD's that get me really amped up while driving. Mostly hard rock/metal for me with a little punk mixed in every now and again. Everytime I listen to "God Save Us" by Ill Nino I think I'm going to get a speeding ticket.

    Is anybody buying Vipers?

I happen to think the Gen II's will always command a premium no matter what the current price and performance of corvettes. It's just a car that some people happen to love. Just look at how much an all original TT supra is going for these days. Everyone knows there are faster/better handling...

Car quit after a bang; any ideas?

Totally different car, but it sounds similar to when my flywheel just mysteriously cracked one day in my Tracer. It didn't completely come apart, and it still ran, but I would hear a clattering sound when the car wasn't in gear.

    picking up a salvaged gts

I'm getting my viper redone right now. It "should've" been a total but I happened to run into a great body shop deal and insurance deal at the same time. Any body shop is gonna talk up how much more it costs to fix SMC since it's NOT just fiberglass. And the alignment of the front end can...

My car's getting a new paint job. It should be done by mid June hopefully. I'd love to meet a few more viper owners once I'm back on the road.

    U.s. Exotics Rocks!!!! Hood Pics!!!

I sent an email to Roger on March 16th, 2007 and he told me the hoods are $6500 a piece and were on a 12 week minimum back order. He was accepting only a %50 deposit at the time because of the wait though. Here's his email - [email protected]

    Vec 2 as rev limiter?

Does a VEC 2 allow you to easily set a rev limit for the engine like an MSD ignition does? Something simple like interchangeable cards? I'm thinking about having some paint work done and with all the horror stories of shops taking vipers for "test drives" I figured this would be some cheap...

    Frozen/stuck wheel lug nut

I did this once and ended up having to drill through the wheel stud with progressively larger drill bits. My "Drill Doctor" easily paid for itself during the whole incident. Now I ALWAYS use a torque wrench when putting the lugs back on!

96 GTS Hub Replacement Options - Any?

Does anyone know the part number for the rear hub assembly for my 96 GTS? All the parts dealers in Birmingham have the same part numbers listed for the front and rear assemblies even though they are different. The front has 26 splines and the rear has 31 splines I believe. Thanks for any help.

    Question About Engine Tuning

Yeah he did really get about 36 mpg. oops I just remembered that he actually had a gas mileage tuning and then a power tuning where he only got about 25 mpg. I had forgotten he had both. So no he didn't get 300whp on the mileage tuning but it was very easy to switch back and forth...
