Thanks Tony! There's nothing quite like your first little girl.
I'm about 700 miles into my engine break in. I've been babying it, keeping the RPMs where Chuck recommended and never laying fully into the throttle. I'm excited to see how she pulls once I finish the break in period!
Sorry for the lack of updates all. My newborn and work have kept me away from the forums! :omg:
No dyno as of yet. We had some dripping oil after the rebuild so I drove back up to Chuck's. I just picked it up today. I am a little over 500 miles into my 1,000 mile break in that is needed...
I don't see that partsrack.com sells the 1" kits anymore, just the 2". I am about 6'1" - 6'2" so I am considering just going with the 2" kit, but am not sure I want to lose the adjustability (not sure why I care since it is all the way back).
Does anyone sell the 1" kit anymore?
From my dealings with Bernie and his reputation I think that is more likely to be what happened. I didn't think of that possibility.
Bernie, I apologize for not thinking of that as a possibility. I got your voicemail earlier (sorry I missed your call, I turn my phone off on game day!)...
Be sure to check for drill holes from previous water/meth setups. I bought an 8K 96' gts that previously had a supercharger that I never knew about until Chuck Tator rebuilt the engine.
Looks like Sean is in FL, too far from PA. I have a new born so I won't be able to make that drive for years to come!
Chuck said I can bring it back to him once the engine is broken in and he can run the engine through the paces, send sean the results, rinse wash and repeat. I can't imagine...
Chuck had Sean do the initial tune, but we have to break in the engine prior to doing another tune. I'm a bit of a computer nerd, so I may take a stab at it myself, but ultimately I will likely have Sean do the final tune.
I too was surprised to hear about the car previously having a...
I should also mention that Chuck told me things about my car that I would have never known otherwise. As it turns out, there were drill holes for a meth/water supercharger setup. When I bought the car, Bernie @ BJ motors told me it was in pristine condition, previously owned by an 80 year old...
Hey all,
I haven't posted on here in a while. I've been too busy with life AND I have been without my old pal Sneaky Pete since June!
Fred Beans Dodge in Doylestown, PA sucks!
I always brought my 96' GTS to the local viper tech, a big mistake (if anyone is near Doylestown, PA then stay away...
So the a-holes in my neighborhood association decided to put in 9 speed bumps within 1 mile of road! Immediately upon hearing this I freaked out, worrying that my 96' GTS would scrap it's nose. They assured me that the bumps would only be 3" in height and plenty long so it won't be a problem...
I am in the process of a complete rebuild. My local Viper techs told me my oil pressure was in spec the past year. Turns out, my gauge was right, they were wrong! I had those bastards check it 2-3 separate times too!
Always look on the bright side though, right?...
My 96' GTS is now in the...
I would guess if the A/F ratios are good as it is then there isn't much that can be done...if you were pig rich it might be different.
However, I have never tuned and could be completely wrong...just a guess.
Thanks for all the feedback guys!
I was hoping for at least $45-50K. Fortunately, I am not in trouble by any means yet... I have enough cash to live with no income for about 4 months. Selling the Viper @ $45-50K would buy me about another 3-4 months. I was just thinking of liquidating it...
I am still not positive I am selling...I am torn between financial liquity and my favorite toy.
Perhaps I will list it and let the market decide what happens!
I was thinking about listing it at viperalley's classifieds. Anywhere else I should consider?
With the turmoil in the economy, I am considering selling my snake :( I am a small business owner and want to make sure I have capitol for any possible upcoming "cold winters".
What is a fair listing price for a 96' GTS w/ 10.5K miles?
The car is in great shape and would come with:
-18"...
I didn't know they made tenders that charge through the cig lighter. I'm worried opening the hood by myself all the time is going to eventually break the latches.
Where can I pick up a cig lighter batt tender?
