Could be done for much less and be an absolute SuperCar:
Gen VI, rear-mounted Hellcat mid-engine, designed by Volado and inspired by the Chrysler ME412 concept car.
Offer it at the price point the Ford GT sold, I don't think too many would languish on dealer lots!
Former owner (2005 Gen 3) and former Venom Member, fully agree and wish we were shown a bit more appreciation and have the option to support the club in the form of Associate Member or Former Owner/Member as opposed to being "demoted" to enthusiast.
DCT-Paddle Shift Option
Open PCM
Bigger wheels allowing 15" brake rotors
More forward looking design (for example Volado) rather than a Gen II inspired retro design
Vert
Lamborghini testing the Gallardo successor at the Nürburgring.

So very sad! RIP Martin Morse.
My prayers and sincerest condolences to the Morse family.
Also a huge loss for SRT and for the Viper Nation.
Above all, my heart goes to the family.
This looks like Stunt Road (appropriate name, no?) in the Santa Monica Mountains, on the backside from Malibu. I took my Viper up there many times, it reminded me a bit of Hill Climb races in the Alps in my native Europe where I grew up.
Here is a video of a motorcycle riding up Stunt Road...
With your "fusion reactor fully engaged" sixth gear* may reach orbit escape velocity, leaving all these pathetic ZR1's hopelessly stuck far behind.
I do however wonder if Grandma is NASA certified to operate this most unique Viper but I heard Buzz Aldrin already called dibs on this Viper...
Randy Pobst is a Volvo driver...'nuff said!
Although I am disappointed, let's remember that the ZR1 is at the end of its life cycle and development curve whereas the Gen V is just starting out.
With C7's coming out soon, I hope SRT sees this as a wake-up call; ultra-expensive paint option and...
Thank you for a great post Mark J!
I will wait for GEN V Nürburgring lap times, it will say a lot more about the car than 1/4 mile an 0 to 60 runs posted by average mag drivers.
I tend to believe that the new transmission and axle ratios will work much better for the 'Ring and pay big...
I went to the Auto Show yesterday, showed them my Viper pictures from the gallery on this site. They said nobody is allowed to sit in the Viper, however there was a nice young lady there taking pictures of show visitors standing next to the Viper.
It was the first time for me to actually see a...
As of now, the GTS-R (driven by Farnbacher) has the fourth fastest best lap time, only 0.315 second behind best in class.
See it here: http://scoring.alms.com/#class=gtc,gte-am,p1,p2,pc,unc
Great job SRT!
The second GTS-R spent over 2 hours in the pits so far but still running.
The Nissan...
Thank you Bill for offering your take from a sales perspective. I know that I am not only one who does not want to give up Vipers when a logical alternative can be developed to stay in the "Viper Nation"; besides it might lead to some conquest sales as well.
The Gallardo has a single clutch automated manual transmission. Lambo clutches are known for not lasting for very long.
When talking about paddle shifters, most people do not know what type of transmission is actually being used.
If this is the case, maybe they will source it from Mercedes/AMG...
