    Anyone have issues with 345/30/19's???

Got 19s on my 97 GTS with Eibachs, lowered ~2 inches. I rub so slightly in full turn that I only noticed it when I was under my hood and saw a rub spot on the wheel well. I suspect it's from backing up, but not sure.

How to get cas cap off a GTS?

I bought a rechromed cap from R&J Distributing about a year ago. Came out great, and so far so good. They can rechrome the one you have if they don't already have one ready to go. Not $500 either if you give them your old one as a core. Just another option.

    Low Profile Speaker Grill?

Fellas - I searched the forum, but couldn't find anything... I bought and installed a set of JL Audio ZR650ci's in my 97 GTS, and the grill sticks out too far on the passenger side and mashes up against the passenger dash panel when the door is shut. It simply sticks out too far. I'd like to...

Naturally Aspirated (Stroker) Vs. Forced Induction... which is better?

What year is the boosted car, and how many lbs of boost? I assume the boosted motor wasn't built? The stroker would strike me as a better purchase if you're looking at reliability, not so much because of the wear and tear on the boosted motor, but rather less moving parts to break. One guy...

What is this, and should I buy it?

IMHO, I disagree with the advise on using a dyno to help tune the car. A "mustang" dyno is about as close to real world driving conditions as you can get, but even that is still not the same as real road driving conditions. How often are you going at WOT in 5th gear on the road when you're...

    Who likes Stripes?

Well there you go then, sounds like if you get a Gen I you're going to need to get some stripes on it. If it's a Gen II+, you can do without. I think all Vipers look good with stripes, some look good without them. I agree with Leadfoot, it depends on the color. If I got a Viper without...

Remember the first time you drove a Viper?

1997 for me. It was a 92 in green at a local dealer in FL. I also had a ZR1 at the time (still do). Pulled up in my Z just to look at the Viper, and a salesman came out. I asked if we could take it for a spin, he replied asking if the Corvette was mine. I said yes and he said, "I'll go get...

    Engine Mount Issue

Ok, need help from the gents with header/Paxton supercharger experience... Got several issues going on at once here, and resurrecting this thread because as I feared, my engine mount issue still exists and now have additional challenges due to some mods I'm getting ready to do... As discussed...

    Who likes Stripes?

Who cares what other people like, you should pick what you like most and run with it. If you're undecided, you need to see some in person, both with and without if you haven't already, before deciding. I think there are a fair number of both striped and non-striped out there too. As for...

12 Hours of Detailing and the GTS looks brand new!

What do you mean by odd-ball product? Not sure I understand what you're saying, but this shouldn't be confused with the typical polishing compound you're referring to because the chemical properties/applicatios are different. This is an alternative to waxes. More or less, it's a polish that...

12 Hours of Detailing and the GTS looks brand new!

Looks good. A clay bar does wonders on a car's finish, gets rid of so many impurities and crap not removed by washing or buffing. Not sure how much it's been discussed before, but I am a huge advocate of using a polish (not a wax) on cars. Wax can melt in the sun and can have a negative...

    Popping noise SOLVED!!!! (front end)

Glad I'm not the only one finding this old post useful. The sound is VERY deceiving, almost like I have something very loose banging up against something when I take off. I would have never guessed the bushings breaking free from being seized. I've been under the car twice looking for...

    Would you run for Pinks?

I agree. We need to take it easy with the high protein diets here and get along ;) I don't want this forum to end up like the Viper Alley, nor do I want moderators to start babysitting us. If you don't like the thread, you don't have to read it. Hell, I don't like half the threads on here...

    Popping noise SOLVED!!!! (front end)

Gotta love the search feature :) Bump from 2006! Been having a mysterious popping sound coming from the front suspension on my 97 GTS. A quick search and BINGO, now I know what my problem is: bad bushings. There are a couple other threads gearing around the same issue. Thanks to you guys...

GENI & II OEM "like" Radiator Replacement Option

MTGTS is right. I've had my stock radiator rebuilt with a triple core unit. The best way I can put it is it cools a little more efficiently, not necessarily cooler temps, which would be accomplished by a thermostat. I've found that the engine will still run hot, but cooling it back to normal...

    Would you run for Pinks?

If I had stupid money, could easily replace the car without any heartache, and if who I'm racing is a good guy (or gal) who would die to own a car like mine, I might give him/her a shot at greatness. Otherwise, hell no for reasons already mentioned.

Passenger side Window Regulator for Gen II

What do you mean the cables were off the regulator? Do you mean they are not inside the motor of the regulator? I've had to "fix" my regulator after the cables got tangled up once. Key is to not mess with the window control after the coupling breaks and the cables are loose. I learned that...

GEN II - Replacing the Fascia Panel Retainers with Body Bolts

Nicely done! Thanks for taking the time to post a "how to." I actually have a slightly sagging front fascia I want to address sometime soon. I'll have to keep this thread saved. Thanks again!

    Transmission R/R

Pull the hood off, disconnect everything from the engine and pull the engine out of the car. That should enable you to drop the tranny out the bottom of the car no problem ;) Sorry, couldn't resist. Having done that more than once, I know how "fun" it can be.

Finally snapped a few pics of the car today!

Those wheels do look nice on the GTS. Needs stripes ;)
