Woodhouse installed the new MGW shifter in my 06 last month. I have only put about 40 miles on it but love the way it shifts, 2nd to 3rd is a piece of cake.
Took the car out for about 20 Miles, Holy S#@* what a difference.
The trick now is hooking the car up. When I got back home I told my wife if anything ever happens to me SELL the car, don't give it to one of the boys. (Broke their hearts)
Very happy with the job Mark did at Woodhouse. I...
My problem in the past has been the shift from 2nd to 3rd. With the MGW shifter it just seems to jump into 3rd from 2nd. Like I said I only got to drive the car about 20 miles but the shifter is a GREAT improvement over the stock one. It is not stiff, I guess it could be notchy but in a good...
Got my 06 back from Woodhouse today, they did the MGW shifter upgrade for me. Drove it for about 20 miles, love the shifter it feels GREAT!!!!!!! A must do mod!!!
Just got my dyno numbers from Mark @ Woodhouse. After Paxton and upgraded PCM on a Mustang dyno, 619 rwhp. Mark said that should be 774 hp at the flywheel. Should have it back next week, CAN'T WAIT to try it out.
Alexarz I think I'll keep the runt!!!
Mark put one in my o6 yesterday. Should have the car back Tuesday, I'll let you know what I think of the shifter then. He also added a Paxton SC. I feel like a kid waiting on Christmas!!!
Looking at ILLSMOQ's dyno he has an increase of 30hp @ 3000RPM, @ 3500 +45hp, @4000 +60 hp, @4500 +75 hp, @5000 +95hp, @5500 +115hp and @5800 +130hp. Used 5800 as a shifting point. Using a 20% decrease for drivetrain +156hp total increase @ 5800rpm. Is this an average hp increase for a Paxton SC...
Just got my baseline back from Mark @ Woodhouse. Mustang dyno: 429.8 rwhp and max torque 446. Which should work out to 537 crank hp and 557 crank torque. First dyno must have been a low reading machine. Looking forward to the numbers after the Paxton install.
Mark is going to install the Paxton SC along with a upgraded PCM, 170 degree stat, engine and trans mounts and a MGW shifter. Should have it back in about two weeks.
Car was picked up today by Woodhouse. Mark is going to run another dyno for me and see if he can find anything wrong with the car. I added Corsa 3" track exhaust with Randon Tech cats, X-Metal thottle body and undersized crank pulley, after I did my baseline. I'll post the results in a couple...
Woodhouse picked up my car today to install a Paxton supercharger. Should I stay with the 3:07 gears or change to 3:33 gears? It is not a daily driver. I take it to the drag strip three or four times a year.
Mike The newest version of the RT cats did away with the front exhaust hanger. The rear exhaust hanger and the exhaust manifold are the only attaching points. My right side is rubbing on the opening going into the sill.
Talked to Mark at Woodhouse today, he is going to pickup my car next week and install a Paxton SC. He will do a before dyno and see what he gets. It will be interesting to see what figure he gets. I hope better than 410hp. After Paxton I hope better than 600hp.
Just finished taking my sills off. Kenneth Krieger's method is the way to go. Tried going in through the door side to remove the two 10mm nuts, after a hour and a lot of cussing I tried Kenneth's way.
(String tied to wrench another GREAT tip) Kenneth's method took about 10 minutes. THANKS KENNETH
I looked at a couple of other dyno pulls from 05/06 vipers, all my power was lost between 4500 and 5700 rpm. If the only problem with my car is that it is running rich could that cause a loss of 40 HP?
Car runs fine, no hint of any problem,. The dyno was a Dynojet. The fuel/air ratio is rich but I don't know if it is enough to cause that much of a power loss.
Just bought a 2006 a couple of months ago, 3600 miles on it. I want to do some HP mods so I went down today to run a baseline dyno so I would know what I was starting with. Three pulls, HP ranged from 401 thru 410, torque from 439 thru 447. Temp 66 humity 48%.
Air/Fuel @ 2000 rpm was 14.5...
Thanks j-rho Great help, my Corsa system SHOULD showup tomorrow.
My plans are to do a baseline dyno Thursday and install the system this weekend. I will do another dyno next week and see what HP gain I made. I am hoping for a gain of 15HP.
