Buying a Porter Cable... What pads?

Practice with the PC, but go with the Flex XC3401. More aggressive, but not too dangerous for the amateur unless you use the totally wrong product and pad.

Wheel fitment question GenII to GenIII

They should fit fine as long as it isn't a set with the 5" rear lip. You might need to relocate the parking brake, though.

    Chimazo

I wouldn't mind picking up some high school girls, but my wife probably would.:nono: I didn't take what you said as anything but kidding, Doug. I did sell my blown Z06 shortly after buying the Viper, and I did consider getting a C6 varient, but I've never owned a Ford and wanted to try...

What kind of loser feels the need to "defend" an inanimate object? Never said it was a "crappy kit car," either, Einstein. All I offered was MY opinion based on MY experience. Actually, for those that don't feel like following the link, here is EXACTLY what I said: "Loved the looks of...

I know of a '94 w/4500 miles that will be covered by the original 3/36warranty because it was never titled.

    Need advice

John, sit in both to make sure you can fit. They are both much tighter inside than your Corvette. The seat bolsters in the GEN3's would make the car impossible for me, so possibly for you, too.

    Iforged 18/19 Wheels

The problem with chrome rims is that if you happen to get a chip or scuff, they are ruined, whereas a polished rim can easily be sanded/buffed, then re-polished.

Its A Real "FIAT" Now....A distaster...

The article I read said FIAT will eventually own a majority stake in the company. Could there be a company with a lower reputation in the U.S. than FIAT? Market Dispatches - MSN Money

    hot rod power tour?

It's been going on at least a decade. My wife and I did a few legs of it back in '98 when they had east coast and west coast versions, but for a long time they've just had one HUGE version. It's still mostly musclecars, but modded late-model muscle has made up a little more (percentage-wise)...

Fed gives Chrysler Financial $1.5B - Chrysler rolls out 0% financing

Does anyone know for certain if Challengers/SRT8's are included in the 0% deal? I couldn't find a link with the specifics. Unfortunately, the owner loyalty program isn't for SRT vehicles, which is lame.

Foxnews says "Chrysler shuts down Friday for a month..

Do you guys think that the plants will ever re-open? There's discussion that many(all?) may not. If Cerburus doesn't want to continue to fund Chrysler (and it could), what does that say about their confidence in its future? Is the extended shutdown just a prelude to Bush's "orderly"...

    Subwoofer GURU needed!

It will fit - you just need to remove the rubber ring around the magnet and it will then be allowed to be mounted flush using the factory grill, if desired. I have a GEN2 and that's what I did, as well as drilling a few new mounting holes so the "JL" would be straight in the hole.

    Vendor Review: VIPER Magazine

A review, by its very definition, cannot be categorized as a "lie," you ridiculous, small-minded Mopar nut-hugger.

    Vendor Review: VIPER Magazine

It's hardly a magazine - more like a glossy brochure for Vipers and advertisers. I never see any objective reviews of aftermarket products, real "how-to" stories, or any articles about modified Vipers. No project cars or tech articles, either (and a one page brief on what tranny fluid to use...

Adding color (yellow) to my interior...HELP!

The wheelskins cover can look surprisingly good, if done well (you sew it yourself, and yes, it's pretty brutal on the fingers). I did it on my Z06 in the pic below. If you want to go with adding some yellow inserts or stitching to your seats, a good local car upholstery shop is usually your...

    Any Ideas???

'98's don't have any head gasket problems. From your description, like Dom said, it sounds like it is either PS or brake/clutch fluid.

    crazy it still hasn't sold!

I've been keeping current with this thread, as I have my '98 RT/10 for sale. Not a single nibble at an asking price of $36500 with a little less than 12k miles and new Michelins (shameless plug:D), although I've only put the ad up here and on the Alley. Not desperate, just want to try...

Works fine that way. I leave the lead in the fender vent and can hook/unhook it without having to raise the hood at all.

    Whats best for polished alluminum???

Do you have pics of the problem area(s)? What are you trying to remove? I just polish the hoops twice a year, and the rest of the time I use detail spray for the entire wheel. Changing to Hawk pads helps a tremendous amount in reducing brake dust, btw.

    Whats best for polished alluminum???

If you rub Mothers polish on your wheel lips, the rag should turn black. If it doesn't, either you're not rubbing enough or the wheels are clearcoated. Mothers works great.
