Light years ahead of ya..already figured it out, welded the frame section in place. back on four wheels....now for the next step. Gluing the inner fender in place, I am almost afraid to ask...does anyone have a tip on setting the height / thickness of glue? Besides pre-fitting hood and fender...
Wow, sorry! Just thought someone might be able to help me with a factory spec...it's not in the service manual, not trying to talk with fancy words...if you think for a second the rear wheels are following the front wheels your wrong. The factory wheels are mounted in rubber and move all over...
Made myself a couple prototypes of Ultra-high-molecular-weight polyethylene Control arm bushing, with stainless pivot bushings. Just got to program and run them. UHMW is prefect for these, self lubricating chemical resistant, wears better then steel. These will make the Viper feel and handle...
Got myself some new rear rotors and some SS braided brake hoses by StopTech, bought a few spares sets of stuff incase someone needs a good deal on hoses or rotors.
Gladly sell you mine , 2200 miles, all factory except has a wing on back...there are pictures of the wing in my gallery. Perfect example of 96 ... I would like 45k for it, I having been planning on parting it out as soon as I am done building my new race car. So, if you want a nice low milage...
Best yet..got the replacement frame cut fitted ..couple quick lazer checks on alignment, couple measurements with the Tram...and weld her in.
Thing was a Biotch to disect.
OK..I guess this is what seperates the men from the boys...you have made my day! I thought about this and thought about it...why couldn't I come up with it?
I understand 100%...This way I am just welding up my butt cut and the slit in the frame rails..still put a couple rosettes in it...
Hi Grif...thanks ..I noticed a seam the other day when I was on a creeper looking up ..saw it on the inside of the pipe..I slid a 6" piece of 1 - 1/8 moly inside the round tubes..have left about a 1/16 gap between right and left sections...seems to be working out great....just tig that gap and...

Stay off the brakes..and turn the wheel?
Oh ya..in case your wondering...still won the round. slid thru the 1/8 at about 140 mph
I started down the HP to weight ratio path..cutting this cutting that..lexan window in back..started selling the unwanted on ebay..found out the thing was a cash cow in parts...now I am selling anything not race related! I bought a Viper from that Woodhouse group..I will call there about the...
Thanks Tree, those are really nice looking pieces. Gives me some ideas. The reason I believe there is a lot of rejects in the arms is due too the bushing holes are not a constant, some may not be useable due to the bushing "bores" not perfectly aligning with each other, this is not a issue with...
Thanks 911..Gave them a call...no one answered the phone..there was a message for collectors choice or something..not sure. I did look at thier site tho...I am afraid the things I need would be way out of the range of what I can justify for the project...besides I enjoy doing everything...
Tree, I going down the same path as you, just a toy to play...to be honest.. the interior door handles in the X sorta showed me the lack of thought put into the car...I am making some spherical control arm " Bushings" 1 7/16 diameter, making a center stop/reducer bushing that will stop/ center...
Anyone out there know about the pipes used in the frames...measures as if its Moly...can't believe the factory spend the extra dollars on anything but Seamless Carbon..planning on Tigging it..wanta make sure I use the corrrect filler...anyone know for sure?
Thanks!!
TreeSnake.
Those look awesome..can you share the part numbers for the front and rears? I didn't see them on the X models on thier site. Would like to order those....Thanks! Ron
Its a 440 6-pak , I offset ground the crank down to chevy rod sizes and put chevy rods in it.. it all looks 100 stock..but headers...its a real torque monster..you can be driving along at about 40- 50..and mat it...the tires just smoke up..its actually a little dangerous....guess thats the drag...
