Heart Felt Thank You To Dr. Steve Fess

Steve is one of the most dedicated, knowledgeable, caring, selfless club guys I have ever been involved with. My story: After a club event, on the curb of his house, he showed me how to check my coolant levels. Just a "hey, follow me home, we'll check that" and I have seen him help others...

    And then there were none.

Well, the guy just left with my Viper on a trailer. It is sold. What a fun experience it was owning a Viper but it just wasn't the car for me and the fam. Thanks to everyone for a good time. I am probably going to pick up a '69 Charger next year. Jeff

I'm looking for some information on a B&W 96 in Indy.

Looks pretty clean, normal wear for a car with some mileage. My car has 82K, I am in Indy and could check it out, I am not the MOST knowledgeable guy in Indy but I do own a 97 B/W for the last 4 months. Price seems decent in comparison to what I paid for mine.

    Dragstrip Video

Cool view!! Fun to watch the tires slide a bit, almost like it lost traction. I dont think I have ever seen that view of a pass. Cool stuff. Car sounds excellent.

    I can whoop yer Viper

Wow, that was cool. wonder how many passes it has in it before the frame snaps.

Anyone know what's going on with R&J Distributing?

Well, I had emailed about the hood insulation they have and got incomplete answers in the return emails and waited a week or two for the second email. By that time, I had found the last remaining hood insulation in the whole Mopar dealer network. Will not deal with again, if, they cant be...

Going to see the Grand Am race at Indy!!!

There is a Viper entry in GT!!!! I cannot find any good info on the Vehicle Technologies entry though.

    Downshifting?

Thanks Husker, that is exactly where I was at 60MPH and needing to change lanes. The "go" pedal comment has been planted firmly in my mind since the first day I got it. I have never had a car that had the capability of reacting like this one does, it is like nothing else. Rev-Matching is the...

    Downshifting?

I'm thinking the standard I did learn to drive with was a late 70's corolla, not exactly a torque monster. Had automatics since, even in my 12 sec Roadrunner

    Downshifting?

Well, took a nice long drive this morning and without killing anyone or myself, I tried rev-matching, only to learn I instinctively do it anyway. Had a jolt or two as I overrevved but for the most part, it was ok. Ahhhh, third gear, between 2nd and 3rd, those two are my favorite but I got on on...

    Downshifting?

Ughh, there is always a jerk answer. Thanks for your answers guys. I asked the question because I had not done it with a car that could tear your head off if you make a mistake and everyone always said "take it easy with this car as you get used to it?"

    Downshifting?

I have been cruising my 97 more and was on the highway tonight, I went to pass a truck while I was in 5th and downshifted to 4th which still did not seem like enough to get around as quick as I wanted. Would I actually come down into 3rd? I am afraid of that big of drop spinning the car...

    I think I made a mistake.

Her? Yeah, she is cute, the songs on the other hand.... :)

    Almost crashed tonight...

I would check your seat. :) Glad it was an "almost crashed" and not a "crashed"
  15. S

    I think I made a mistake.

and that will make you want to stick a gun barrel in your mouth. :)

    I think I made a mistake.

Well......although I still think the car is a bit impractical, I am really tossing around the idea of keeping it. My job changed as of this week and I am no longer an outside salesman and could drive the Viper to work now if I wanted which would give me a bunch more seat time and not make it...

Best comment you overheard someone say about your car...

There is an AND here right? :)
  18. S

    Well, that was short.

Thanks George, I feel ya, I grew up in the back of a 69 Charger, playing with my Dukes of Hazzard cars in the huge rear window space. I have owned a bunch of old Mopars including my dream car, a 69 Charger R/T in Q5 Bright Turquoise Metallic which I sold to help my mom get a house after my dad...

    Well, that was short.

I know I have heard this a few times but it is really hard to get a feel for a car and if you will truly like it until you own it, at least not with me anyway. Its not like they are a dime a dozen.

Is there any way to get the ac motor to blow harder?

My wife told me to turn the A/C down a bit because apparently skirts and the crotch vent don't mix. :)
  21. S

    I think I made a mistake.

Steve, saw your post late, I actually forgot about C&C until later in the day, spent a few hours in the morning doing some much needed detailing.
  22. S

    Well, that was short.

To be honest, it doesn't excite me like I thought it would. It's super fast (which is a bit of a problem when your an outside guy who needs his license to work), it is gorgeous (there is no other American made car quite like it) but I really dont like having the money tied up into something I am...
  23. S

    Well, that was short.

It's not what my mind had made it to be over the last 16 years. Nothing wrong with THIS car per se. Just the Viper in general.
  24. S

    Well, that was short.

    Thanks 99!!

    Well, that was short.

My 97 BW has been listed. Hate to do it since it was my dream car but some dreams are better left dreams. It's in the classifieds. Very original car, no mods.
