Sorry about your car. Traction control is good for most people most of the time for street use. Wet road, old cold run flats, falling road pitch, high horse power and a little too early or too much throttle, or all of the above and she spins. Guy behind me caught this clip on his helmet cam...
My 06 was also making a noise like that on initial acceleration from stop and dealer tech could not find. I changed the rear oil (I used Chrysler oil and friction modifier but would recommend using Royal Purple's with friction modifier already in oil as mixing it and putting in rear is messy...
An interesting thread to read, but I live and work in PA (1 plate) and have been traveling in and out of most of NJ (2 Plates) and many other states for 25 years with many different cars and commercial trucks and have never been stopped or questioned about front plates. This includes many...
My 06 Coupe with 7200 miles started making a single clunk noise upon light acceleration from stop. From past car experience I would guess it to be a U-joint, but during this weeks PA State Inspection, neither the tech or I could find any cause when it was on the lift. I am about to change rear...
I was wandering the same thing. I have been using a 1 amp $25 Black and Decker Battery Maintainer from Walmart plugged into the lighter for over a year and thru the winter where I did not start the car. I have not had any problems. It is also impossible to drive off with car still plugged in.
If you have not had them already, spend a few more bucks on a 2 day performance driving school. There are several you can do this winter. I went to sportscardrivingexperince.com and highly recommend them. I thought I was a very good fast driver until getting on a track and comparing it with a...
When in stop and go traffic, mine was annoying at first , but you get used to it real quick and bounce off second and put it in third. Works just fine. I am not sure why everyone says skip to fourth.
I see this is an old post, but I also also have a similar problem. Owner and member but I can not post in the events page. I would like to thank the people who put on yesterdays great event at NJ Motorsports Park. A fantastic track for all levels. Thanks if this can be changed.
I changed my oil after 3 month and about 800 miles and I noticed what looked like very fine pieces of metal swirling around in it. 06 coupe has 6500 miles with Mobil 1 0-40w. I also noticed contamination on my last change. Is this normal on the V10? My local Dodge dealer does not send oil...
My o6 comes on first run of an autocross or track day and goes off by itself after a while. I never checked codes and figured it was the computer adjusting to the drastic change in emmisions.
An open track day at Pocono raceway. I clearly saw 155 on speedometer 1/2 way down back straight and was still pulling. No time to check after that. I think there is a NJ Viper Club day in mid Aug. An Instructor is a wise investment to make sure you are comfortable and safe at speed as the...
After watching the demo I might switch to RP. I was not impressed with Mobil 1. After tracking my car, I changed the oil and the oil drain pan looked like it had tiny metalic pieces swirling in it.
I bought an 06 Coupe after learning to drive track on a 06 ZO6. I think the Viper does seem faster and more aggressive with a better cockpit feel. If timed, they may be about equal depending on track, tires, and driver but my style of driving definetly prefers the viper. I have had the...
