    #10 - relay/solenoids fuse keeps blowing

97 GTS The 10amp fuse in the #10 spot dash keeps popping once the key is turned to "on". This prevents the fuel pump from getting any power. AKA, car won't start. Insult to injury, the car is at a friend's place. Since figuring out that #10 keeps popping: Tightened the negative battery...

    Coolant hose ID

I have started to get a small leak from this coolant hose. I attempted to order a new one, but it seems to be quite hard to ID it. I was thinking heater core feed & return. It's the lower hose that's leaking. But I am going to replace both while I'm in there. I'm sure that the non-leaking hose...

    white out's run

Tomorrow I am driving the Viper from Grand Rapids, MI to San Diego, CA with a stop in Vegas. THe run from GR to Vegas will be done in one run. I have been watching the weather, and on the fly will be deciding between taking the 80 across the country and attempting the 70 through the Mountains in...

    HID fog lights

Are HID fog lights really worth it for a car with HID low beams? I am currently in between some Hella or PIAA fog light bulbs; or 4300k HIDs to go with HID low beams. For those with HID fog lights, can you post pictures to where you mounted the ballasts. Thanks, Nick

Colorado: I'm going to need some help with roads

So I am running to Vegas on my way to San Diego, leaving the first dry day after Dec 25th. I am aiming for it to be a 20 hour drive (google is claiming 30 hour), so I need to average around 95mph. After doing a few cross country road rallies, that shouldn't be too big of an issue. :headbang...

    It's 15 outside . . .

I am leaving Michigan for California in a few weeks. So a few friends put on a party for me. :headbang: It's 15 degrees outside. The 997 is the only car on winter tires. Afterwards I was spinning the PS2s through 4th gear on the highway, uphill. :drive: Only cars that didn't show was...

a little story about my trans mount

So the other day I was doing a highway pull and notice that the shifter moved a few inches. So I went ahead and ordered a woodhouse hardened mount. Got into it with a friend today and this is what we found . . . a picture of it installed with the PIMP oem brace. Needless to say, the car...

    ACR suspension: need help tuning

I have not been able to find any threads on proper specs for the suspension settings. I have a '99 ACR. Previous owner lowered the car, but I think that he did it improperly. The front of the car starts to lift at 180 and gets far too uncomfortable by 190 (in comparison to a C5/C6). Does...

GTS rear hatch, strut glue failure

Today, it is mid 80's and my car was in direct sunlight for over an hour. I opened the hatch and the driver strut popped off of the window. The strut mount had come off of the glue, the glue is still attached to the hatch. What kind of glue should be used to attach the strut mount to the...

Just got back from the Porsche dealer. . .

. . . where I had my wheels balanced because the Dodge dealer wouldn't do it and none of the other tires shops in town could get it to their lifts and were afraid of how wide the rear tires are. :rolaugh: So thank you Delta Porsche. :2tu: Forgot my camera, but there was a new, all white...

spark plug wear; is this normal? (56K there are some big pics)

I did a spark plug change on my '99 ACR: catless, B&B cbe, and mopar wires (stock :dunno: ). History: It was a TX car for 18k, so 91 octane. I've had it for 5k miles and run 93 octane. I do not know the age of the plugs. Plug 10 was in the worst shape, so it has the close ups...

A Viper, treated much different than most. . . 56k be warned

This is my '99 ACR. I love it. But I also drive it daily, for the most part. The day after I got it washed, I had a 70 mile trek through a snow storm. Since then it's logged around 700 miles, with lots of rain and bugs. So this car has been subjected to many more conditions than most Vipers...

    Gen II exhaust manifold/header: thermal coating/porting questions. . .

My engine mounts are shot. I am taking Dave's advice and going at them from the top. But since I am going through all the work to remove the factory manifolds, I might as well get my money/time's worth. :D On my GT35R STi I noticed some significant changes by thermally coating the SS...

    spun it

I was out on a drive today. It was mid 40's, overcast, and we were on a two lane/semi-private road with some loose pebbles/gravel/etc in spots. I took a 20mph turn at about 50mph with a nice line, but expected to be exiting with a little slide. Anyways the tail kicked out, so I attempted to...
