Loaded up the '99 ACR on the trailer and headed to the Black Hills for a weekend of driving. Here are some of the pics of the trip that included Needle's Highway, Custer Park and just about every exciting road we could find ;)
and of course......the damn bug clean up :mad...
It is surprisingly difficult to stripe a black viper in other colors than silver. I want to add some stripes to my '99 ACR but have been unable to decide which color. Everyone does silver, and I don't want to copy the flat black striped Viper on here :nono:
I don't drive my '99 it in the winter; however we had a freak snow band come through on the one day I decided to take it to work in early October, was a very scary drive home to say the least.
I am new to the Viper world, and it's hard to explain the feeling you get when you drive it to others. I live in a smaller town (2500 people) in Central MN; I have become an 'instant rock-star' as a good friend described it. It almost becomes a chore to get gas because you can't get away from...
Thanks to all for the kind words! It is my first Viper and it has yet to disappoint :0 I am really up in the air about stripes, I thought of doing silver, but there is a Viper I saw that had flat black stripes that made me smile a tad ;)
I would say go for it. I had title transfer issues on my A8 and the previous owner was very helpful to me.
Not to mention if it was may car that I had sold a few years ago I would be very interested to see what it was like today.

Hello to all! I bought this car at the end of August '09 and at this time has 14,6xx miles on the clock. It has the K&N / SmoothTube combo that comes with the ACR Pkg. and a Corsa cat-back system installed by previous owner. It was a 64* day, low humidity day here in MN when we did this.
From what I understand, you will not notice an increase in performance unless your car is knocking resulting in timing retardation from the lower octane.
The octane level is just a measurement of the fuels resistance to ignite from compression. 93, 91, and 87 octanes all have the same energy...
I let my friend take his wife for a ride in my new '99 GTS ACR; he drives a '95 Dodge Stealth TT and 'wasn't impressed' as he put's it.
It's a long read, but a good one if you need a laugh in your day :) Everyone else basically thinks he's on the 'not so legal drugs' :)
Who thinks Vipers...
