Tony,
Raising your boy with a vette instead of a viper? Someone needs to contact child services or at least have a family intervention!
Great story. Enjoy the Z06! You sound like a great dad.
My 96 GTS is listed here:

Not an ideal time slot. It may be a buyers opportunity.
Good luck with your hunt.
Hagerty had an interesting discussion on the topic yesterday. What factors are driving value.

Hello,
I have a pretty darn immaculate 96 GTS Blue/ White stripes. I'm second owner. Has around 17,000 original miles. Looking for high 40's to right buyer.
I will be putting my 96 GTS on the market in the near future. It is a #1 car with 14,000 miles.
Has a Corsa cat back exhaust (have original) and the power steering pulley upgrade. Everything else is stock.
I would like exposure, but not thrilled with all the noise that comes with certain sites...
They have the best data out there and a good track record. Interesting read. What most enthusiasts likely already know.

Correct. I would not let it go for less than $50K. It's a 1- condition car they only made 1,166 of (96GTS). There are only two or three on the market at any given time if that.
No I did not. Did not meet my reserve.
Auction was a good one for buyers. There were a lot of good deals to be had.
I'm keeping the GTS. It is such a good car that is easy to care for and pretty dang bullet proof. Plus it is such a landmark car. Breakthrough performance for the time...
Mixed emotions, because the car is a great car. Vipers are amazing! Not that these are investments, but I feel strongly the market will recognize how important/great these cars are. I'll be the guy saying, "I had one when..."
I'm not really targeting anything with the funds. I am trying to...
This one looks to be a nice one. Low miles but enough to keep the car fresh, if it has been cared for.

The photos do look great. I'm not so much thinking this is The Benchmark car for 96 GTS, just a very good one worthy of collectors. There are very few non-modified solid 96 GTS's trading hands or available, so it will be interesting to see how much the market is moving.
