Stored 2003 for winter. Go to garage and doors locked and cannot even jump start it . Super dead battery. Will replace it next week. What size hex or star driver to get battery panel off in trunk ?? :crazy2:
I have a pristine 2003 SRT with 20,000 miles that is showroom both inside and out. Always garaged and never in rain. Silver Vert with black rag top. Not a mark on the rims. Engine bay not even any dust. PS2 tires, run craps tossed. Driven approx 2,000 miles per summer. I have never spun the...
There is always an UPside to an issue like this !!! That means our Gen 1-4 Vipers will be VERY vauable and collectible cars. That means $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
I have owned 2 Cadillacs. The quality was very poor, and had a boat load of electrical issues. My new sedan with the Famous Northstar V8 burned a quart of oil every 2000 miles due to poor valve train engineering,so GM put a bigger oil pan on car !! After 2 years I sold it and lost 20,000$ Guys...
Sonoman, Thanks for good common sense advice. I found new upstream O2 sensor for about 40$ and have Mopar tech friend who can install after hours for no charge. Yet, I am not going to buy the sensor or install until I get MIL light again as no threat of damage to motor and I agree, that the...
Hooked up OBD II scanner and it read PO155,which is O2 sensor heater circuit malfunction Bank 2, sensor#1. I reset the ECU and it has not come back on. Could bad gas or short have tripped the computer?? Car (2003 SRT with 20K miles). If sensor goes bad,is this an expensive repair ?? John:omg:
UPDATE, I plugged in OBD II and code came up PO155 which is O2 sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction Bank2 sensor#1. Does this mean anything to anyone on forum?? I reset MIL engine light and it has remained off. I wonder if some bad gas or misfire caused sensor to fire ???? If sensor has failed or...
Now that I think about it---- The last thing I did 3 weeks ago before I put Viper (2003 with 20,000 miles) in garage was fill tank. Suspect I may not have screwed cap tightly and threw a code. I am ordering OBD II reader and will check code and if just a gas cap I will reset it. If O2 sensor...
This is the dash icon shaped like an engine. Manual says problem with emissions or loose gas cap. I checked gas cap and is fine. Has anyone had this problem ??? Car has not been driven for 3-4 weeks,so took it for 20 minute ride and light remains on. John
Like Alcoholics Annonymous there is Vipers Annonymous (VA) There are meetings where guys can meet and discuss their mental and emotional problems regarding why they MUST drive their Vipers. Bring Kleenex because a lot of tears are shed. Usually the guys who are most addicted have really small...
Where can I buy a rear wing for my 2003. Is the install difficult, cutting fiberglass etc...??? If not too challenging I would buy and have body shop install. John
Jims Custom exhaust in West Kingston RI is an excellent shop . They weld and fab high end systems and install for good prices. Approx. 90 miles from Boston and easy ride down (3 or 128 to 95 south. I live nearby and can help with contact. John
Imcgrew, Sounds like you are having a lot of fun and on a learning curve with the Viper. I suspect it is MUCH harder to drive autoX than most cars. In a Miata, you just press the go pedal to the floor and steer around cones. Can't do that with our Viper !!!!!!!!
Blue, Thanks for info. Really interesting to learn all the odd little details on forum about these cars. After a QT of Mobil-1 added, level is perfect. Had car on lift today and found a slight film of oil on fly wheel guard. I removed the plate (2 screws) and no oil on flywheel which means no rear...
Steve, I did not want to admit that I found the 2003 dipstick hard to read. Front side of dipstick that is engraved revealed a level different than the back side . Kind of screwy. Not at all like my bmw dipstick. All said and done,I think there is no oil consumption issue. I did add a QT. and...
Steve, I agree with your point. I did not check oil when the motor was cold before trip. Then I checked oil when motor still pretty warm and probably some oil had not fully drained back to the pan. It looks like I am at the most only down 1/2 QT as motor cools. As it turns out, I am now not...
Have a 2003 Gen3. Has 20,000 miles, light duty,no racing, strictly summer cruiser. After 20 minute drive decided to check oil and found down a quart. I was pretty surprised tho realize pan holds 11 qts. Oil pressure driving is 75-80 PSI at idle is 40 PSI. No leaks and motor runs like a dream. No...
I have a gen3 with 19,000 miles in showroom shape in R.I.. Silver vert, black top. PS2 mich tires always serviced. Never in rain, summer car only, always garaged. Send some pics of noble to my email [email protected] Thanks, John
This guys story may be bull but I had BMW M5 that I let Valet park 4 years ago. Dumb 18 year old drove it into a new Lexus, caused 3,000 in damage and 3 weeks at autobody shop. My last car was a FFR Cobra. Valet kids begged me for keys . I gave them keys but I had a remote switch that totally...
