i stole this off of the GTR Board, so hopefully it correct... should know for sure in a day or two when the magazine shows up. not sure how the new paving had effect on lap times (comparing old lap times to new lap times)
I bought my car as a leftover in October 2011, so the factory 3 year warranty is almost up.
I have almost 17k miles on it with zero problems with any part of the car.
do I;
A - Roll the dice and drive it without a warranty?
B - Dodge factory warranties are pretty expensive - $3k for 3 more...
I just need the passenger side...2009 ACR.. black... metal... stock..... I googled a little but new ones are fairly expensive and they seem to be sold in pairs.... I only need passenger side.
thanks!
I thought Car and Driver Lightning Lap was usually published early in the year. Wanna see how the TA did compared to some of the previous year lap times, etc... of course the track can change, conditions change daily but still neat to see the lap times despite the potential conditions, etc...
I raced a Honda S2000 for 3 years and the pedals are perfect for heal and toe whether in street shoes or track shoes.....
in my 2009 ACR, either the pedals are too close or the fact that I bump my knee into the wheel.....I even moved the tilt part all the way up and I still hit it.
I have not...
i will be taking advantage of my free day from SRT for buying new viper... :)
black with red drivers stripe... i am taking the viper there but you drive their cars...

We could not find anywhere with no people or traffic other than one back road.... the Throttle got stuck at some point just as my passenger hit the video button. ;)
i only got 3 runs... place was way too crowded with racers.. and it wasn't nearly as warm as i was expecting so after sitting for 2 hours my quick burnout didn't warm up the sport cups.... first run was 2.135 60' with 11.954ET @ 125.32 (banging 3rd gear rev limiter)... second run about the same...
I have these tires on my RX8.... of course the RX8 has zero torque.... but the Nitto's handle pretty well and i have over 10k miles on them...and they come in the proper sizes for my 2009 ACR..... they are about $300 cheaper than the Michilin Super Sports.....are the Michilins worth the $300...
the fronts are 20mm narrower than stock but i am guessing with my typical street driving i won't notice. I can't drive on Sport Cups on days like today (low 20's in AM and going up to 30's but with some rain)...
just wanted to get some feedback from ACR guys running this combo...
it has been mostly parked for winter and was kinda hard to start... can i charge the battery off of that terminal under the hood? i looked in the manual but it just said to use that for jump starting... i was just going to put a charger on it...?
sorry for the dork noob question.
thanks
got my 09 ACR new sept 2011...i paid a local race shop about a year ago to check settings and align.... it seemed pogo'ie (not sure how to spell) since then... so finaly tonight i jacked it up and all of the top adjusters were on about the softest they get.... WTF! I put the all at 6 clicks...
Lightning Lap is in the Feb 2013 Car and Driver.. despite all the talk of the 2013 Viper vs ZR1, the lightning lap is in there too..........
The 2008 ACR is still the 2nd fastest overall car, losing only to a Mosler MT900S (i personally have no idea where you buy one of those).
Track...
ACR Viper is still the king (besides that goofy Mosler) of the Lightning Lap. I think the 2012 ZR1 (which i assume was on similar tires to the ACR..???) was about 2 seconds slower.
I didn't get mine in the mail yet. :( I hate when they make it to the stores before my mailman finishes...
according to the tirerack website, my 2009 ACR has Pilot Sport Cup tires.
according to the website that tracks lap times around the nurbergring it mentions that the corvettes both had with optional super-slick track DOT competition tires (Michelin Pilot Sport Cup Zero Pressure
The 2010 ACR...
i have almost 6k miles on mine and they still have tread. I don't do many burnouts but don't drive like a granny either... just curious on the tread wear average for these. i assumed they would be long gone by now....??
thanks
(i tried to search but didn't have much luck).
Not sure if every ACR comes with that goofy little nurbergring sticker 7.22.X (i think)..... i assume the 2010's have a similar sticker with the faster time..????
I doubt 08's had it.. was it a factory thing or a dealer thing? I pealed mine off... Just curious...
I just took it to the local dodge dealer because they don't seal very well or they don't go all the way back up or something...... they called and said they are *within spec* at 75mph i should not hear wind noise in a car that costs as much as mine did.
anyone have any experience? should I...
is there a thread that can explain how I make my suspension just a few clicks stiffer? I paid the local race shop to align it and set the suspension where they felt would be good but it seems a little soft now. I just want to make it slightly stiffer but am too dumb. I am not sure I got all...
it was a grey with 2 red stripes down middle 09 with 50 miles on it... i assume it was considered new since that is where i just got my 09 about 6 months ago.
anyone from the board buy it? kinda makes the value of a used one seem not so great. ahahahaha.. :( :D
I love TE37's. I had some made for an 03 cobra mustang and have had them on my import cars. Anyone have pics of them on Viper? I don't know if they make them in the correct sizes or not. I have 09 ACR.
just thought I would check. Thanks.
Any idea of there is anything special about the 2009 ACR windshield? I do not want to turn it into my insurance but i want to get whatever it takes to be similar to the OEM windshield.
Mine got hit with a pretty decent rock which put about a 3" crack in it, but the crack is growing...
