Could you shave a few millimetres from the rear fender lip radius to clear the tyre when the suspension bottoms? Nobody would notice the lip reduction.

Re: Gen 4 & 5 Performance Well Hidden, Greg Good Heads Dyno, 708 Cam Stock Improvemen Thanks Eric for your answers. Most helpful. I guess getting a SCT is the trick for tuning the PCM. Where do you recommend getting hold of one? Do you need extra software to run the tunes? Best wishes Mad prof

Gen 4 & 5 Performance Well Hidden, Greg Good Heads Dyno, 708 Cam Stock Improvement.

Re: Gen 4 & 5 Performance Well Hidden, Greg Good Heads Dyno, 708 Cam Stock Improvemen Eric, I enjoyed very much reading your mod list on your 1996 RT 10. I have the same car and I am having very similar porting treatment in the cylinder heads by Greg Good. I am aiming at RWP 550 and similar...

What are the differences in the gen2 vs gen 3 engines? ( rod knock issue ) ---

Oil starvation is a well documented flaw in the design of Gen 3 engines. The oil pan and pick up point have serious design limitations which can lead to cavitation (oil froath) under severe acceleration and cornering. It is also documented that the connecting rods of 2003 Gen 3 engines are...

    Kumho 315s on 17x13 rim?

The Kumho 335/35/17 is a “narrow” tyre, compared with PS2 of the same dimensions fitted on a 17” x 13" rims. I will post some pics to see the amount of “ring” the wheel has on both sides. Other than appearances, the rubber is superb. It is a track tire with road-legal tread. If you opt for...

Differential issues 2003 SRT– update Thanks to all for suggestions. I went back to the dealer and took the car for another test drive. Again, all went pretty well. I listened for noises or clunks from the rear, but all appeared normal. On my return to the dealership (Main Dodge / Chrysler...

    Differential issues 2003 SRT

I test drove a very low mileage 2003 SRT. The car behaved well with no issues. When returned to the dealership, I put reverse to park the car and a series of alarming metallic noises started coming from the rear of the transaxle. The dealer suggested it is a sticking brake calliper. I am...

    Gen 2 Belly Pan..........

The belly pan on RT10 is aluminum 4mm with 12 high grade bolts. I have replaced them with stainless steel high tensile button head bolts and torqued them to specs. I believe the pan is mainly for protection purposes, but will offer some structural support to the ladden frame of the Viper.

    Another loose Crank bolt...kind of

Emaw, could you put a mirror towards the crank pulley and inspect the condition of the threads? This is how I saw the bunged threads with thredlock on mine. First, tighten back the nut all the way, then place the mirror and isnpect. Hope there is good news.

    Another loose Crank bolt...kind of

Emaw, have you removed the crank bolt before? if not, chances that your crank threads are shot are diminishing. Good thing nothing was damaged. Mine was a total pain to remove. Thread locker bunged the remaining threads preventing the last few spins of the nut. Paitience, back and forth...

How long do Michelin super sports last (age wise)?

Check the grooves in the carcass of the tyre for any cracks, as the soft ruber tends to soak up heat and splice the foot of the tyre. Mine were 2 years old and full of cracks, especially the rears. What diameter are your tyres? As you do not know the history of the tyres, proceed with...

    Did I pay too much?

Nickel, well done. First thing to do is change the tyres. If they are the originals, they are plain dangerous. Change fluids and lubricants. As for the summer, the top is off and after certain speed limits, you do feel cool! let us see some shots!

    Did I pay too much?

Low mileage cars are often a good gauge of genuine vehicles. You have acquired a bargain. Keep it bone-stock and you will always recoup your investment. Modify and enjoy. The choice is yours. Congratulations and please post some photos!

Congratulations on this amazing project. The car looks great. I bet you cannot wait to drive it and tell us the difference between “before” and “after” the mods. BTW who did your porting and polishing? Did you modified your compression ratio? Is your suspension standard or you did magic there...

Well done Robert. Tell us where do you see the improvements in real time driving? Is the car tail-happy? Did you have to replace the cam to take advantage of the head porting and breathing improvements?
