I agree but most of this came from racing...which I think is a good development platform.
I meant as more of a brand statement. The MP4 didn't advance anything particularly new (that I can remember) and would have been a costly endeavour that didn't really show Dodge had their eye on the future...
I have to say I was never very impressed with the ME 4/12. For a mainstream manufacturer to make a supercar concept that will never be built show's me they really don't have their eye on the ball. They need innovative, affordable and efficient solutions for day-to-day transportation for millions...
Might take the whole hatch with it!
I hear ya. After watching the SRT video about how the aero changes as you turn this is something you'd want to have thoroughly tested before putting much faith in it.
Here's a video of a prototype air brake wing for a mustang:

Here's another on a gT3 RS:

Imagine the Extreme wing as an air brake! Holy mackerel that would...
There are three things that can happen;
1) Tire slip
2) Clutch slip
3) Neither slip and you grenade the drivetrain
With a 5000 rpm sidestep you can pretty much count on #1.
Interesting discussion regarding safety but it's also a major ride/handling and performance factor. A nice new set of Michelin PS2s will make the car both ride and handle better. Cheap way to enhance enjoyment IMHO.
