Ringgold, GA?
If you can get a ride to Nashville, I'm headed down that way to pick up a new Ram (I'm headed to ATL) I'd be more than happy to take you the 3 hours from Nashville to Ringgold :)
Saw that one -- Not real trusting of the company. Tried calling twice with no answer and no voicemail, and no reply to my emails regarding software installed.
Hey Guys ...
Looking for a stock 2003 Viper PCM ... preferably with AI software installed (not a deal breaker however)
Made a few calls to salvage yards - but their response was that they tend to keep the PCM's with their engine package's and probably don't have one separate.
Wondering...
That's great ... But I got them free under warranty -- Having them flashed via a 3rd party, wouldn't be on a free replacement PCM. It very well likely could be on my current, possibly, bad PCM. I would then have to purchase something that otherwise would be covered under warranty.
For what...
I could see this as a possibility. Especially seeing no added resistance anywhere ... But I'm believe the PCM is just faulty or the electrical issue is sitting within its metal housing :)
Thanks eucharistos :)
I get to see her beauty when I wash her :) Here she is in all her glory :)
Thanks for chiming in vprtech .... We've checked voltage via a multimeter at grounding points, cable leads, the battery -- Cranking/recranking. There's no drop large enough to reset the PCM.
The car starts up great at the first crank. No huffing/puffing/sputtering or retries.
She may be a...
Well, PCM #3 came in -- and it's throwing codes left and right. This case has been escalated via the Star system, and now Mopar is looking in to their parts suppliers.
The problem lies in the software we are getting with the new PCM's. Many come in as AJ/AK/etc... when what is needed is AI...
We are at 5.5 months and counting ...
Atleast I got to wash her on Saturday. She's lonely sitting in the garage week after week, month after month ... :(
Just an update ...
Chrysler has shipped the dealership (2) different PCM's. The issue being, neither one has the correct software, and throws codes immediately upon installation. The funny part, each one throws a different set of codes. I put my original back in = No codes, just the monitor...
tmills,
How long would the process take? If you were in the South of Indiana, it'd be alot closer for me.
There's got to be some Chicago owners who will to do this!!!!!
Not sure how that would work, considering the dealer I purchased it from in Arkansas doesn't require smog :-/
1,500 miles on the car since I've owned it trying to get these monitors set. Monitors reset after 2-3 startups -- Confirmed via the DRB tool. It shows a reset taking place after...
You bring up an interesting point.
According to Dodge - There are no 2003 PCM's anywhere. They don't even have refurbs, and they have never fully answered my question as to how I"ll get a new one? The problem with calling these dealers is, they will likely have to do the warranty work. My...
Hey Swexlin,
That's what I'm afraid of :(
No, there is no exemption, atleast from talking with the DMV/County Clerk/Smog Check. Been to the county clerks office 3 times. The last time, I begged just to title the car as a non operation vehicle in my name so I could pay tax. Once I get it...
Well,
My faith in Dodge/Chrysler is slowly coming to an end.
For months now, we've been *waiting* on a new/refurb PCM for my Viper. Dodge can't seem to find one or care to have one made.
Facts:
1) I'm still under Smog Warranty -- Chrysler said they will replace PCM.
2) 3 Months...
walking out of vitaminshoppe on Monday ...
Little girl (probably 9/10 years old) -- "Mom, I've never seen this car! I LOVE IT!" (as she stands staring at it)
Mom -- "Its nothing special, we see plenty of them in Miami"
LoL!
I thought the same thing ... But my dealer checked mine today (PCM Issues) - And the emission warranty is 8 years/96,000 miles or something around there. 8 years for sure ... Looked it up, and my emissions warranty isn't up until Dec 2013 :)
I'd have him call with his VIN # and check :)
Yes it does! :)
Yeah, I'd start with the battery. If its not the battery, just keep your fingers crossed its not the PCM itself. If outside the warranty, they are expensive!
I didn't like my local dealer either, and our "ViperTech" wasn't at all helpful. Once I figured out my friend worked...
Turned the car over this morning - All systems were INC
So, went back to Dodge about 30 minutes ago ... Was in the midst of a reflash, when we learned the PCM was up to date. Did a bit further digging, and my car has an in service date of 12/2005 which means, MY EMISSIONS ARE STILL UNDER...
From Autotrader - Cordova is the nice part of Memphis. I would trust something from that part of town -- Not so much other parts of town. Memphis is a *ROUGH* city :)
