GTS vs ACR
Hi Bill, just fyi: Dan Cragin rebuilt the DS shocks on my '00 ACR.... as after 15 years they needed it (leaking). Per Dan the rebuild included modifying the upper seal to fix the leaking issue. The cost ended up being significantly less then replacing the shocks. Decided it was the right way to...- mitchdob

Anyone hear of Luisao Motorcars in AZ?
From my understanding the Badge Delete option was a Factory Authorized Dealer option not a Factory option and thus would not show up on the VIN. Mine was performed at Fitzgerald Motorsports in NH. Power steering pump pulley failure...

01-02 ACR Shock Evaluation Question

Power steering pump pulley failure...
No, didn't do the install. It was installed by Eddie Martin (Phoenix Viper tech) while he was doing the engine build/mods. Didn't wait for the factory pulley/bracket to fail. It was upgraded as "preventative maintenance".- mitchdob

Viper's racism...
Thanks for the info Tony. I just wanted to add that I wanted a totally naturally aspirated engine. That's why i bought a Viper. @ ViperJohn: I don't believe the 2000 had an issue with the water pump impeller. That problem was introduced in 2001 and 2002. But correct me if I'm off....- mitchdob

Going to pick up a 2001 ACR on Saturday. What do I need to know?
In mid-2000 ACR shocks were changed up from Koni to Dynamic Suspensions (DS). I believe the coil overs were changed to Meritor .... info giving to me by CamFab for my mid/May-2000 built ACR.- mitchdob

So.... 'to each their own'.... I wanted pure unadulterated, unaltered, raw horsepower - a naturally aspirated engine. That's just because to me a Gen II Viper = raw. ACR changes from '00 to '01-02?
In mid-2000 (approx May) the ACR was upgraded from a Koni package (2812 Race Damper/Hyperco springs) to the Dynamic Suspensions (DS) coil over package (500lbs front/1100lbs rear). You can check the ACRs build date. Thanks to Camfab for that info. He know his Gen II ACRs. .... see, he already...- mitchdob
