I have had mine off several times. To install the fasteners under the lights I disassembled an old pair of pliers with a rubber grip. The curve of the handle gave me the angle I needed while the rubber plier grip help grip the fastener and kept it from sliding off. I then centered it on the...

I have a Gen 2. 2002 GTS Final Edition.. Its in the shop due to a common issue vipers seem to have with crank bolts. However the Gen 1 RT\10 was my dream car till the GTS came out then I was in love with that. Later gen 2 01' and 02's they introduced ABS and better shocks.. You really just need...

Ya Ken's guys said the crank looks to have metal transfer from the damper. They initially thought it was gouged and possibly ruined but after looking at it and the balancer they think it is metal transfer and they are trying to file it off. then retap it. I have a contact that has a 97' crank...

Best Engine Oil for the GTS

You are 100% correct. My buddy and I had an old S-10. We did a standard oil change and drove it till were heard Pinging and knocking. Then rebuilt the motor. We hit 22k miles before any knocking. Anyways I wouldn't go beyond 8-10 with standard oil. Gas mileage is set by Oil companies as well..

Hey Guys, I am at a pretty bad standstill. The threads need re-tooling and I don't feel I should attempt that myself, I am not a machinist. I do have a 3/4x16 tap but it isn't grabbing and I don't wanna mess the threads up further. I took it to the Local Dodge dealership and they tried ripping...

What will a thick washer do? I was thinking about taking the front end apart and using a small sledge to tap it on. I was re tapping the crank as well to repair any bad threads. The die for the bolt was 20x1.5 but the same size tap doesn't fit the crank snout which needs a little rethreading...

I'm unable to put the new Damper on. Does it need to be hydrolicaly pressed? The snout has minor damage.. threads need to be reworked. Maybe I can take it to a speed shop.. Have them look at it.

Well I got my 31mm shorty well socket in the mail and its working. Just can't tell if it's the nut turning or the crank as well. So tight... It's in gear.

Correct.. after 3 days of fighting it with 3 different sockets, 2 pipes and 2 breaker bars, Over the top and under the car, I accepted defeat today. I did order a 31mm short well. Gonna give that a shot. If that doesn't work I'll have to tow it..

Both.. If the engine rotates clockwise and the bolt loosens counter; to bump start to loosen the bolt the breaker bar should rest on the power steering side frame from the top and the passenger side from the bottem.. correct?
