recall 998 wan NOT done. looks like it needs a cleaning, tires, and the fluids changed. 96/97 are up in value and this car is a little strong but not outrageous. looks like a honest car from what i can tell.- nmp1

thats a shame. when owners refuse to see the true value of a car like that its destine to just rot to death until there is nothing left. no one will pay anywhere near that amount of money so that guy will probably just let that car sit indefinitely and it will end up in a junk yard years or...- nmp1

i agree with viper john. 20k is too high with all the unknowns. probably 1500 for tires and assume the whole trans needs a replacement if they cant fix just the 4th gear cog or whatever it is. all fluids and filters probably a few hundred if you do them yourself. the big question is the unknown...- nmp1

the body parts are the big ticket items so if they are damaged you might want to pass it up. if the body is ok you might want to try and jump it and see that happens. the mechanicals aren't too price and used parts are available from several places. keep in mind that car in pristine condition is...- nmp1

Next Gen Viper 2020-2021?
I think that’s a possibility and probably a better one, if they’re going to completely change the car call it something else. If they don’t do a viper or something similar they really won’t have a sports car in their lineup just muscle cars.- nmp1

I think it’s extremely unlikely the current 707 engine will make it into the Viper for several reasons. 1. The weight, The Viper is designed to be a lightweight sports car. if they do bring the viper back the car will be designed for the mass market and become more main stream like the vette. this probably mean the focus is more about being cost effective and economical. i wont be surprised if it has a less powerful engine, automatic/pattle option, softer ride...- nmp1

the problem with private or dealer ads is that you dont know what the car actually sold for. you may see a car advertised at a given price but who knows what it actually sold for when the negotiation begins. with places like ebay i have seen people run up their own bids and relist a week later...- nmp1
