    Refinishing Cowl Cover

Not a bad look, but I will go with keeping the matte black finish. Thanks for the reply.

    Refinishing Cowl Cover

Sounds good. I figured it would be something like that. Thanks.

    Refinishing Cowl Cover

Has anyone refinished/repainted their Gen 1 cowl cover (the side-to-side piece that the wiper arms and washer fluid lines come through at the base of the windshield)? I have a factory service manual and it does not include any info on paint/paint codes for that piece. Flat black? Matte black...

No dash or rear running lights

Although you plugged in the main plug, do you also check to make sure you plugged in the little single tab ground plug? Just making sure you have it all back together. The little plug can be overlooked.

Winter Months Ahead--something that might be overlooked

As the cooler winter months move in here in Western NY, I take the time to go through my vehicles thoroughly. This week, as I start going through my '95, I planned on putting fresh brake pads all the way around and flushing the fluid through the system. My vehicle just clicked over 27,000 miles...

    Daytime Running Light Activation-Gen 1

Works as designed. Attached photo shows de-powered high beam with no low beam.

    Daytime Running Light Activation-Gen 1

All right, yes, it has taken me this long to follow up on this issue...and I'm nominating myself for the "Braindead Diagnosing Effort of the Year" award. After driving myself batty trying to diagnose why I can't activate the Daytime Running Lights on my US-sold '95, I finally had the "Eureka!"...

    Daytime Running Light Activation-Gen 1

Ok, I will verify voltages at pins. I did not do that. Thanks.

    Daytime Running Light Activation-Gen 1

They are not. My post requests input on getting them activated from non- functionality as shipped by the factory for a US-spec car. Sorry for any confusion.

    Daytime Running Light Activation-Gen 1

No, I was mentioning the items I looked at in diagnosing why I can’t get my DRLs to activate. The brake handle is all the way down and the brake warning light is off.

    Daytime Running Light Activation-Gen 1

If you pull up on the parking Brake lever, it deactivates the DRLs at the same time the “BRAKE” comes on.

    Daytime Running Light Activation-Gen 1

Yes, I could do that also, but I'd like to get the factory setup going. Don't worry about looking for it. I appreciate the follow up.

    Daytime Running Light Activation-Gen 1

Acknowledged. The Gen 1 and Gen 2 DRL modules are physically different, with different shaped plugs, and would not interchange. One avenue for you to investigate is to source a US -spec Gen 2 "jumper" plug, if the Gen 2s had a similar setup. Unplug your DRL module, plug in the "jumper" and...

    Daytime Running Light Activation-Gen 1

Thanks for the response. Looking the schematic for the Gen 1/95 forward lighting, I expected to plug in the module and have them operational. I actually bought a second module, which, of course, didn't work either when plugged in. The GEN 1s don't seem to go through a data bus or any part of...

    Daytime Running Light Activation-Gen 1

Hmmm...no one has activated Gen 1 DRLs before?

1993, Gen 1 sway bar links

One option that worked for me was ordering Gen 2 links, cleaning my Gen 1 links up, regreasing the ball joints and swapping over the boots from the Gen 2 links. My links were good, just the boots had degraded over time. I too waited to hear on availability from multiple parts outlets about Moog...

    Daytime Running Light Activation-Gen 1

I'm trying to activate the daytime running lights on my '95 Viper. My vehicle was sold new in the US. I do live near the Canadian border, but that has nothing to do with my activity, I'm just a shallow person who likes things that light up by themselves. I know the Canadian DRLs are supposed...

Wanted : Hardtop for Gen 1 Viper

My first post on this forum...I'm going to be in the Nashville/Murfreesboro area late next week (June 15-16-17) moving my daughter down for grad school reasons. I am looking for a Gen 1 hardtop ('95). I'll have an empty full size pickup and an empty car hauler as I'm towing her car down for her...
