    Hello Houston Viper Club,

This has become one of our most popular events over the last few years. Whether you are a complete newbie to the track, your Viper, or a seasoned driver you will have fun. This drivers' education event allows you the experience of driving on a road course at speed among fellow Viper owners. For beginners there will be more experienced drivers available as instructors for your group and passing will be done in a controlled and safe manner. For more advanced drivers we will allow more passing zones but a point by will be required. There will be multiple driving groups. We will not be racing. More details will be provided at the drivers' meeting.

Please review the tech form attached to your email from the Houston VCA as a guideline for proper condition of your car and bring a completed copy the day of the event. Your brake fluid should be no more than six months old. It should be recently flushed if you track your car often (as you know). There are many more items to consider and bring, but my experience for track days the most common issues are tires, brake fluid, and brake pads.

While on the course you will be required to wear a helmet, closed toe shoes, and long pants. Long sleeves are preferred. This is the required attire for karting in the afternoon as well (full face helmet required for karting, the karting facility does have helmets available for karting). You can just 'cruise' the course. We aren't expecting you to try to drive out of your comfort zone. This is about having fun with your Viper without having to worry about that speedometer getting you in trouble and learning how your car performs in a safer environment than on the street.

Lunch will be provided at the conclusion of on track activities. Then, if your stomach can handle it, on to karting!

    Where: Motor Sports Ranch-Houston
    http://msrhouston.com/
    When: Sunday, November 18th
    Gate opens at 8:00 AM
    Driver's meeting at 8:30 sharp
Track is hot from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM, Karting available afterward.
Rate for track time: Current dues paying VCA members: $100
    Non VCA member Viper $135

RSVP is due by November 12th at [email protected]. Feel free to let me know you plan to attend on this thread, but I will build the track day roster off of my email.

    He will need:

    1. Your name and VCA member number.
    2. Your experience level and whether you want an instructor in the car. (We reserve the right to require an instructor.)
    3. Are you staying for lunch? How many in your party?
    3. A check in the amount of either $100 (Current VCA member). Check your email for the address to post mailings.

Karting will be open until 5:00 PM for members and guests.
The club has negotiated a reduced rate of $20 for all karting sessions.

***The Club Officers reserve the right to invite members of other clubs to help share costs should we not reach the target of 25 cars or require additional experienced drivers to serve as instructors.
Safety comes first. MSR-H staff will be on hand and the club will defer to track staff for issues of safety and organization.

    See you there!

18 cars so far. Let me know if you plan on coming. If putting you car on the track isn't your thing, come hang out and do the karting in the afternoon.

Is the list still open only for VCA folks, or are other clubs able to play too? I have a non Viper individual interested. Let me know.

Mike, how many simoleons for just Grub & Carting for 2? Also, are there any additional charges for track side heckling of Paul racing?

Lunch is $9 per person if not driving on track. Karting discount applies to members whether tracking or not. Heckling costs nothing. Ride alongs nothing in advanced group if you sign the waiver.

Hope to see you and B there.

I invited some friends to come by and enjoy the Viper around the track. They took plenty of pics, so I thought I would share.

Thanks to Marty (older gentlemen on Pic 1) and Jason (Pic 2,3) for sharing the pics. (High res pics available, just PM me):
