ACR wheels on a non-ACR?

I'm strongly considering running black wheels on my car. I'm considering powder coating my razors black but I'm also thinking about switching to the already-black ACR wheels instead:

The fronts are 285 instead of 275 though right? Does that cause any issues? It seems like my tires already rub a little when I turn sharp at slow speed but maybe that's just the wide rear tires skipping (I'm not sure yet, gotta investigate more).

Has anyone here made the switch? How well has it worked?

ACR wheels are the same dimensions as regular Viper wheels 18x10...19x13. ACR wheels are just lighter for less unsprung weight. front tire size on ACR is 295/30zr18, regular size is 275/35zr18. Either tire fits the car on either wheel. I've used both tire sizes on my six spokes on a stock suspension gen III. No rubbing, no problems.

Oh interesting. I didn't realize you could run different width tires on the same rim. Good to know.

Which size tire did you prefer for the street? I'm replacing my 5 year old factory PS2's with Super Sports either way.

For the street, definately the oem 275/35-18.....follows ruts in the road alot less. The wider front tire for track use helps reduce understeer designed into the car for the street. (understeer is a safer condition than oversteer.) ACR is set up more for track use so it comes with the wider front tire. If you just drive mostly on the street, and you want the ACR black wheels, put 'em on with the 275's. It'll drive the same as it does now, and I don't think anyone will call you a poser.:crazy2:....The 295 on the front makes the car very unpleasant to drive on the street for me. They're great on the track, but I don't trailer my car, so to and from really *****.(the roads aren't that great-also a truck route) so It's kind of a struggle to keep it out of the ditch. Maybe my alignment doesn't help either(-2.1 camber) Hope this insight helps you make a decision you don't regret.:)
