I e mailed Volado Design joked with him about cleaning the brake dust on the wheels...

He said

Oh about those wheels... yeah they're designed to clean themselves while being driven at top speed... honest!... lol

If that concept is, in fact, the future reality - I will be in line to buy one pronto.

The government has already killed the Viper. I'll save up for the track version but I have little to no interest in a street sports car loaded down with nannies.

The gen V Viper is going to be the $hit. I can't wait..

I hope it looks a little like this 612 GTO concept, along with some GTS features..

I like the design a lot and stands on it's own, but it does have cues from a 60's Ferarri and a modern Shelby design. Looks expensive too.

A few adjustments to the look of the front fascia and lose the shark gills for something a bit curvier and that could be a very nice Gen5 Viper...

It is bigger and wider, just like I would want it to be. It also seems to be going back to sexier curves vs hard lines.

My only thought/fear is that Dodge may follow the same trend as Chevy with the Corvette. I loved the long body and big butt on the C5. I think the C6 looks nice and aggresive; however, I did NOT like how the C6 shrunk. I hope the 2012 Viper will not try and shrink their body in attempts for effeciency or weight savings.

Oh, one last note. I wonder if the new Viper would incorporate some LED day running lights like the new Audis (+ R8), and newer luxury cars?

You don't want a smaller, lighter sports car? It is kinda the point, you know.

Yes, but not to the point where we don't want to buy it.

I think this latest Ferrari shown here is the best looking Ferrari I've seen. It also kind of looks like Ferrari was sneaking around the Vette design room.

I had fun driving with some supercharged F430 over the weekend and if that is the future I will stay away from all the electronic "cheese" .... :crazy2:

I played the Volado Viper concept video and I am just BLOWN AWAY!
I had to ask myself, "did that just happen?!".
One word, spec-f-ing-tacular !!!!
I know there is NO WAY Fiat will let that be the new Viper, because if it is nobody will buy the new Ferrari, even that 612GTO!

I think I need oxygen.

Sorry to rain on the Volado parade but the car, under the regs that will be in effect for the 2013 model year, is probably not buildable. Part of the design is a very small clearance to the ground and I doubt the nose meets the "pedestrian" impact rules. But, with that said, it is an interesting study.

I like the Volado concept. Nice to see some organic curves again. That is the design direction the Gen3 should have gone in, imo, instead of where they went!

I'd much rather have that than the 458 Italia, or the SLS Mercedes. An American car we can be proud of.

Much respect to Sergio, probably the hardest working sweater wearing executive I've ever seen. Closet full of sweaters! heh heh!
