Just curious, what's the point in having them?
In Delaware its a reduced Registration, one-time
inspection, and lower Insurance Premiums...

... However, youre only allowed 500 miles a year,
can only drive to a parade or car event, cannot
have ANY non-factory modifications, and if
caught violating the rule set they will remove
every antique plate you have AND lifetime ban
you from ever having it again (which sometimes
results in losing both your Home and Vehicle
Insurance forcing you to go on High Risk.)

I know several people who like going this route,
and seem to get away with it, but to me the
$40/yr and sniff test drop just arent worth the
risk...

Plus with the EV and Pollution pushes i have a
feeling the current lackadaisical enforcement on
all tags is about to go away in big, loud, way....

You can't have a catchy personalized plate if you get antique plates. Hagerty allows you to have various mileage limits and less restrictions. Just can't use it as a daily driver. I pay $300/ year.

I like Hagerty: They offer collector car insurance ranging from garage kept to parked in driveway. They also don't care about your required non-collector car with normal insurance.

I hate JC Taylor: All collector cars have to be in a garage AND your required non-collector car with normal insurance must not be over 20 years old.

My daily driver was a 1974 Datsun 620 pickup.

I have Pennsylvania Classic plates on my 96 GTS. The title is branded "C" for Classic.

They do have a Collectible brand which I think is for cars that are modified - that actually applies to mine but I really haven't kept up on the latest law - they keep changing it so I quit checking it.

PA does say "occasional use not more than 1 day a week" which is ambiguous regarding the meaning of "use." If a truck technically means could haul stuff 1 day a week and I know that is not the intent. Driving to car show is probably not "use." Is taking for a "joy" ride "use?" Or driving to warm up engine and lubricate seals?

...and that is precisely why I don't pay attention to legalities.

Myself and car friends have never heard of anyone in PA being punished for violating the restrictions on plates.

Not a fan of Hagerty any more from my personal experience. I called for a quote and after wasting about 2 hours on the phone they quoted me over $3k!!!! Keep in mind I told them I would be putting about 100-200 miles a year on it max. I then called Geico and they have a collectors policy and got it for under 1,500 for the year! Anyone else have a similar issue with insurance for the viper? I wouldn’t do antique plates either I like the custom option

Im with Rda - Hagerty was a huge joke of an
insurer. Ive never seen a company whose entire
catalog revolves around cars be so... well...
Anti-Driving. They wanted me to put all 9 of
my cars on their daily program to get a discount
on the Viper (and at the time a 66 Mustang.)
The end result would have been $12,000/yr for
a $2,000/yr discount... I politely said they could
go fu....

... anyway... im with PHLY now (a division of Grundy,)
no mile limit, garage kept, uncovered track okay, must
have a daily with another insurer, and im less than
$500/yr on $300k/$100k agreed upon (but admittedly
my declared value is low.)

What year is your car? My experience was a 96 GTS.

I have a 2006. And they had it valued at around $70-80k (has about 7k miles). Again was just frustrating they strung me along to then tell me it was over 3k a year and because this was “my first car over 500hp” they wouldn’t insure me for the first year lol.
