APEX MOTORSPORT\'S LETHAL 650 TEST RESULTS....

After posting about our R&D efforts and goals in the GENERAL DISCUSSION Area http://vca1.viperclub.org/ubb/Forum14/HTML/007659.html
and the components of the package in the NEW PRODUCTS Area http://vca1.viperclub.org/ubb/Forum24/HTML/000156.html , it's time to get down to business and share with you our dyno testing results!!!

As always, a couple things first?:
1) We ran several dyno runs, and the numbers were VERY CONSISTENT. All within 5-7 hp and 5 ft.lbs. of torque (thanks to the cooling system components of this package)!

2) After testing various combinations and results, I can tell you that peak horsepower is not everything. We have dyno-tested some other tuner packages that yielded great peak numbers, but miserable low-mid range numbers (as much as 60 ft.lbs. and 40 hp less than comparable Vipers). Likewise we have tested some great low end combinations that pooped out on the top end, and others than had some noticeable waves. Our goal was to build a package that would provide INCREASED POWER AND TORQUE THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE RPM RANGE!

3) Keep in mind our dyno tends to be on the conservative side. For example, typical Belanger header and exhaust upgrades yield about 425-430hp on most year Vipers. One of our Nor Cal club members has a stout engine built by reputable tuners that registered 630hp on their engine dyno and managed a high of only 507 rwhp on our chassis dyno. Another member has a completely built Caldwell race motor (with all the works) that only managed 505 ft.lbs torque on our dyno.

Well, this is what you have been waiting for:

Stock: 2001 ACR with K&N filters and smooth tubes
MAX POWER: 398 hp
MAX TORQUE: 442 ft.lbs

LETHAL 650
MAX POWER: 567 hp (667hp at the engine with a 15% correction factor)
MAX TORQUE: 578 ft.lbs. (680tq at the engine with a 15% correction factor)

HIGH LIGHTS:
1) We made significantly more power and torque throughout the entire RPM range. No blips, no waves; nice and smooth graph.

2) Peak torque no occurs at about 4300 rpms, a nice improvement over stock and makes the car better mannered, and more easily controlled.

3) The car made OVER 500 ft.lbs TORQUE AT THE REAR WHEELS from 3200 rpms to 6000 rpms.

4) The car made OVER 400 HORSEPOWER AT THE REAR WHEELS (typical peak for stock Viper) from about 3800 rpms to 6000 rpms.

5) We achieved these numbers without touching the stock computer! The air-fuel was safe and looked great. We hope to eek out some more power with some fine tuning of the computer in the next week. The car idles great, and, until you mash the throttle, behaves just like a stock Viper. MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!

Could you please post Dyno sheet, and also some prices/parts used.
Also, what was the compression?
Thanks

Nice going, guys! Amazing to see what the intake & cam do to the powerband -- going from 515 to 567 RWHP -and- picking up torque in the process is quite impressive. Looks like Wayne's ACR is the local top dog... for now

Thanks for your reply. I just posted links to the dyno graphs. Take a look.

We kept the compression ratio in a safe range.
There is a link in my post that takes you to the list of parts we use in the package in the NEW PRODUCTS AREA.

Take Care.

Ben-
Thanks!
Are you going to the dinner on Tues?
It took a little more than just an intake and a cam to make this jump in power...but that's classified info.

See you on Tues.
