Is anyone planning to attend the Art Center Classic Car Show coming up this Sunday in Pasadena? If not, you might seriously reconsider because it is one of the premiere gatherings of classic cars and automotive designers that you will ever find.
This year’s show is recognizing Gordon Murray, who is the designer of the McLaren F1 (which is the fastest street car on record at 241 mph) and Mercedes SLR. This event also serves as a mini-reunion of Art Center graduates from their automotive design school from the last 50 years. Art Center College is the most prestigious school in automotive design. The fact that all of the major automotive manufacturers have design centers in Southern California is a testament to their impact on the industry.
